Fuel is subject to spoilage, Oil isn't. Like Mike, I tend to ship a lot of oil to the HI.
I like the refineries on. Why not have the extra supply they produce, which in the Burma area especially can be critical? It would be a waste of fuel to ship a bunch of supply here that I could just produce here in the first place. The excess fuel is taken to various places by any troop or cargo ships that stops by and keeps the IJN going at the Port Blair sub base and outpost.

Thanks, I appreciate that, but I wouldn't say I have played well. I lost the Hiryu in Jan 42 and am embarrassed to say that 3 Allied DDs sailed into Saigon harbor and sank 3 AOs.
Maybe but there isn't another AAR that I've copied production notes from so I'll have them on file with me. Seriously I have a 40 page word document full of great information I've gotten from this AAR.

This is a great AAR to glean production and strategy from the Japanese perspective. I've certainly learnt alot from Mike's AAR.
Keep up the good work!![8D]
Looking forward to reading about this!!

I think fuel has spoilage on the way but oil will move without loss. [:)]
Bingo!

That's the down side. It equates to 300 supply per day until the oil center gets hit. In my case, the oil center is now down to 206 (one turn not posted yet). That supply would dry up quickly and you still lose some fuel. For me, oil here is worth more than losing some fuel.

You and me both Empire. I'm currently torn about attacking again. Fatigue is in the 40s in the divisions. Still high for me. Maybe next turn. I think Singapore's days are numbered.

How much AV should you hit Singers with?

As much as possible is the easy answer to that!!
I also saturate bomb Singers every turn with every available bomber, to destroy supply and add more disabled units to the 'dead' pile[;)]

Well, here are some stats:
24 Feb 42 Shock Attack:
Allies: 638 AV
Japanese: 1839 AV
Result was 2:1 at fort level 2. Both forts were eliminated.
Nothing but bombardment since then.
28 Feb 42
Allies: 497 AV
Japanese: 1555 AV
Still 3:1 raw odds. I'm going to wait a turn to get the fatigue down some more.
Here are some stats on the divisions:
Division - Disruption - Fatigue - % Str - AV
38 - 23 - 48 - 64/99 - 162
IG - 13 - 42 - 78/99 - 264
5 - 8 - 27 - 64/89 - 222
18 - 16 - 49 - 97/100 - 452
2 - 20 - 42 - 101/101 - 459
You can see that the 38 Div is hurting and two others need some more time to recuperate.

Yup. I'm hitting Singapore with 6 artillery units and >100 Sallies and Lilys every day.

28 Feb 42
Sub War
The Ro-34 was poking its nose off the SW coast of India and ran into an enemy ASW TF. They caught her with one DC and damaged two of her forward torpedo tubes. Fortunately, damage wasn’t severe at 9-13(7)-0-0. She’ll head back to the barn for repairs.
5 Fleet
The attack on Dutch Harbor by 2x Naval Guards was pretty bad. They had no support to soften up the defenses which resulted in a 1:2 attack against a level 1 fort. Losses were 165(0) Japanese to 18(0) Americans. Not bad really, but they have to repair some disruption. They will definitely need some help taking the place. I have 610 PPs right now. I’ll buy a regiment out of Kwantung and ship them there. It’ll take a while unfortunately. I’m strongly considering sending MKB up there for support.
4 Fleet
Nothing new to report.
SE Fleet
Quiet down here once again. I’m going to start bombing Pt. Moresby airfield tomorrow with the sentai of Lilys.
Philippines
16 Division will attack the 81 PA Division in Cebu tomorrow.
China
I’ve been attacking a surrounded Chinese Corps just NW of Paotow, in the Mongolian Army’s AO. I’m still not killing many but they are practically all disabled now, which should result in that unit being destroyed soon. This attack netted 604(6) Chinese to 82(0) Japanese. Once this unit is destroyed, the Mongolian Army will move west over the trail to the Chinese base that has some oil (can’t remember the name offhand). It appears to have a clear road.
Burma
More Allied bombers hit Magwe today. 70 bombers escorted by 12 P-40Es were met by 7 Zeros and 9 Oscars. For no loss, 5 P-40s were shot down (and 2 op losses) along with a Blenheim I and 2x Blenheim IVs shot down and two more IVs as op losses. They couldn’t prevent the bombing of the oil fields unfortunately. Another 24 oil fields went up in smoke, reducing the Magwe field to 206 (of an original 300). Taung Gyi finally reached a level 2 airfield, allowing for offensive missions. I am going to station 9x Zeros and 12x Oscars there and put them on LRCAP over Magwe. Hopefully, that’ll hurt the Allied bombers a little more. The killer for me right now is the lack of built up airfields in the area. I didn’t want to take Magwe yet (to prevent the bombing until I was ready to defend it properly) but it automatically reverted to my control. Rats!
I am still preparing to do a bombardment of Akyab. I’m gathering 8 CA, 1 CL and 8 DD for the effort. They’ll fly in, toss some rounds and fly out, so they’re out of Allied bomber range by morning. My intel shows ~36 fighters there. I’d love to kill some on the ground. All of the Allied bombers are at another base (can’t remember the name) further north.
Malaya
No attack on Singapore happened today. The division’s still have high fatigue. Disruption is in the low 20s, so I’m not concerned about that but the fatigue is around 40-50. I’ll give it a shot when it’s down to the 30s. Also, a couple of the divisions still have some disrupted squads. Another day or 2 of rest would do them well. Singapore’s days are definitely numbered though. The units are showing up as pretty weak in the daily ground bombardment.
Java
I tried a DA on Soerabaja and it went very well. In a 2:1 attack against level 2 forts, there were 109(4) Japanese losses (all vehicle losses) and 1727(59) Dutch losses with one Dutch unit destroyed (not sure which one yet). I’ll try again tomorrow. If I could reduce the fort level a bit, I’d try a shock attack, but not yet.
Other Stuff
Reinforcement: CHa-29 – It’ll start a new ASW TF off Japan. Once I get 3 more of these models, it’ll head for its final destination.
With the end of Feb 42, I am down to 1 month remaining for the Japanese invasion bonus. I need to step up my invasions of the small islands south and east of Kendari. I want most, if not all, of them in my care by the end of March.
I had 53 IJA pilots accelerate from month 10. Interesting. I have only 7 IJA pilots in TRACOM and 33 IJN pilots in TRACOM. Slackers.
Looking at the numbers, for the most part things are looking good. Supply is up 30k from a month ago. That tells me that my expansion didn’t break the bank.
HI is up 48 to 7090. If you recall, my goal is 7500. We’ll see what it looks like when I liberate Singapore, Soerabaja and Batavia. Then I’ll determine how much more expansion I need to do and how much it’ll cost. My HI reserves were up over 12k to 84,518 after the pilot bite. Yeah, that’s still not going up very fast but that’ll increase pretty quickly once I am able to reduce armaments.
Speaking of armaments, I’m up 11k to 56k. I’ll probably reduce my operational armament factories from 620 to 120 after I hit 100k in the pool. I figure that’ll happen by Jul 42.
Vehicles are looking good. I built up my vehicle factories to 150 at the beginning of the war. The vehicle pool went up exactly 2000 from 5438 to 7438. I’ll keep the factories going at least until Jun 42, when I get the remaining components for the 2x Tank Divisions. They are destined for Burma. Hopefully, after that I’ll look at reducing production but I suspect that won’t happen.
Ship losses:
Allies
Ships: +40: 77 to 117 (lots of AMs)
Points: +248: 756 to 1004
Japan
Ships: +8: 61 to 69 (mainly mistakes on my part)
Points: +47: 729 to 776
22 of those 47 points were from the AMC I foolishly lost at Dutch Harbor a couple of days ago.
I’ll give a list of ships sunk later when I compile it.
Until a few days ago, the sunk list showed 4x US BBs from Pearl Harbor and the PoW, which took a torpedo early in the war. The PoW just came off the list a few days ago.
Plane losses:
Allies: +342 (604 to 946)
Japan: +243 (544 to 787)

5 - 70/63/53/72/76
IG - 29/58/30/68/52 - Ouch
IG definitely. What do you think about the others?

Where are the 25th Corps and Southern Army HQs and who is running them? Shouldnt they give a big boost to your AV?

The 5th and 38th Division will need to be divided and have decent leaders assigned to speed up rebuilding AFTER you capture Singapore.
Right now everybody except IG looks good leadership wise.

Good idea. Thanks Michael. I never think to split a unit to rebuild it quicker.
