That is not a crazy idea. I am pretty sure I could get the whole street to go along after the way they treated us with the "no left turn" edict. There is only one way out. We could put a smoothbore Napoleon loaded with grapeshot down at the end of the street and have all the stay-at-home wives man the thing. Of course, they could blockade us too. That would be bad.

I can answer that - I have been dropped on many times and I am still not a first person shooter type.

Depending on plane height being in the drop zone can run from mildly annoying (I have boots and sunglasses stained that unique red shade; had a bald volunteer chief who looked like he had a viscous sunburn for about 10 days-6 years later the inside of his command rig is still red), to downright dangerous.

I have worked ground under air support on a lot of fires and you would be surprised the variation in quality of the pilots - we had one outfit that the safest place to be was where they were supposed to be dropping. (They were missing an active fire by literally miles..) Then you occasionally run across the mythical 'old, bold pilot' and my god are they good. I had one guy dropping downhill in a canyon greater than 800 ft deep with a nasty 90 degree turn at the end and I swear on two consecutive runs I had the mike open to get recovery operations going.

Chopper pilots are an interesting group as well. Had a NG unit just back from Afghanistan helping us with bucket work on a fire we had to have a talk with. One of the pilots was having trouble letting go of the low level egress SOPs and kept blowing through the 20 man crews with the bucket about 3 ft off the ground which was dangerous but funny to watch.

On a hot day, with a working fire when they are bringing water in you try and sneak under their flight line to cool off from the bucket slop over in the rotor down wash. The choppers are really effective and accurate.

Sure, but how do you know you didn't used to be Bobby Fischer until they dropped the stuff on you, causing amnesia? After all, they would try to keep it a secret so you don't file a lawsuit.

AE might be a step down for you.

I think that's the Cap'n's point. Wouldn't you have been as attractive as Bobby Fischer but for the flame retardant drops? Honestly Argos, you've got to think like an over-litigated Southern Californian a little more.

As an escaped SoCal native I try to immediately treat thinking like an 'olSC' with any means available.

I'm guessing Sian has enough dried fish head soup and knee mortars to supply via the rail to the NW, thence southward down the Yeti Trail to the Valley or Mordor.

It could also be Inchon to Novosibirsk to Minsk to Ulan Bator and then Lanchow thence southward down the Yeti Trail to the Valley or Mordor.

So Basically they're supplying an entire army along a track across the mountains and through the jungle? This better work for us in Burma.

Well, you're relying on your magical, mystical Ramree island supply chain to serve your entire army in Burma, no? Cause that's what it will do. Doesn't make any sense there either. Just think of the RL supply 'shrinkage' from the croc/porter interface if nothing else.
