I have some ideas for Port Blair that might work better than the P-38 sweep over Rangoon.

Rangoon is the problem it is dangerous to land relief at Port Blair.

We continue the B-24 night raids, which are at least damaging air frames. We build up P-38's in Burma from replacement aircraft (there are only 10 operable P-38's left in the PI).

Corsairs can reach China (and thence Burma) from Northern Luzon. After we are ashore in Northern Luzon, we can ship a squadron or two of Corsairs to Burma to assemble enough P-38's and Corsairs to win an A2A battle over Rangoon.

In the meantime, we task some of the B-24's to shut down the airfield at Port Blair and then go over to ground and port attack on the IJA on Andaman.

We might also be able to get some engineers and a small combat unit ashore by landing craft (unload in one turn) on Little Andaman to build up to level 2 in order to provide LRCAP on the run in to Andaman.

Other options would include attacking deeper bases in China perhaps or Formosa (once we get to level 5 in Northern Luzon) to draw off his fighters.

But she didn't survive, did she? Either she survived the torpedoes and was sunk by Sonias (ignominy and shame) or she didn't survive the torpedoes and succumbed to finishing touches by the gnats (honorable way to go out fighting). I'd recommend you assume the latter narrative.

But she didn't survive, did she? Either she survived the torpedoes and was sunk by Sonias (ignominy and shame) or she didn't survive the torpedoes and succumbed to finishing touches by the gnats (honorable way to go out fighting). I'd recommend you assume the latter narrative.

Personally, I think she just sank when the weight of 7 X 100 lb bombs was added to her barely floating deck.

I despair of capturing Manira now in the short run with 51K crazy Emperor Brand Kool-aide-drinking LYB's buttoned up in an urban hex.

This leaves us wanting for a good port. Manado is our current best port until you get to Darwin but will max out at 5 soon. There are ports buildable to 6 in the PI ( Busuanga, Naga) but that will take a while.

There is Beazelbob (currently level 5) but there are 12K LYB's there and they will be dug in. That will require a full 50 day prep.

Takao (Formosa)..defended for sure but maybe one of the Formosa coastal cities is lightly garrisoned and we could get ashore there and march on Takao.

Amoy? Might be able to take it but then there would be untold tens of thousands of angry LYB's on your doorstep in a couple of weeks.

Hong Kong? Kind of going the wrong way and likely defended.

Strictly out of prurient interest, if the LYB's suddenly were possesed of a strong desire to move large numbers of ground troops to Korea, could they use their Manchurian garrison without consequences?

What about Hainan island (in the South China Sea just east of Vietn...erm..."Indochina")? There's two good bases there that could be significantly expanded that are also away from land routes of reinforcement. The bases are connected by nice roads too. This location, combined with DB placement at Basuanga should cut off any fuel / oil from the DEI entirely. Just capturing the southern perimeter may allow some tanker movement back to the HI by skirting the SE Asian coastline.

I would wager dollars to donuts that Hainan is less heavily garrisoned than Formosa. The latter would be a stern test.

Warning: This would make the LYBs angry and they would respond accordingly.

They don't have to 'buy' the PPs to rail move Manchurian garrison troops to Korea, if that's what you're asking. Since it's not ship or air transport away from the Asian landmass, they should be able to, by the mechanics of the game, move their troops accordingly.

Do you guys have any HR on 'buying' Manchuko garrison troops before they can be moved out of theatre? Because the IJ army in Korea is in, get this, Korea-technically a different command (like China is a different command). So, it's a bit of a gray zone in the gameplay rules, IMO-you should probably clarify.

Plus, it'll cause the biggest 'pucker' that you can imagine-an aggressive Allied player inquiring about Japanese defensive rules on Korea...Hory crap! [X(]

Advice needed on rules for social order:

The recycle collection guy for the Mandrake estate left a note on my recycle can saying I had too much "trash" in my recycle can.

This hurt my feelings really badly. I was trying to be a good citizen....plus my trash can was full.

Should I write an apology letter? Greet him in person? Wash and bleach the recycle can?

It would be a breach of OPSEC, if you were actually planning to invade Korea. If you aren't actually planning to invade (and it is strictly prurient interest), then it is no OPSEC violation, as there is no OP to Secure.

The enemy may react wildly to speculation of your interest in Korea, however, which might be to your advantage. However, they may also rationally analyze your question, and realize you would never give away surprise on such a critical operation with such a question, and therefore assume it was a PSYOP.

Which would then leave him perfectly vulnerable when you later decide that Korea IS in fact your next objective!

I opened Scenario 2 and checked - Korea Army is a sub-command of Kwantung Army, therefore moving units from Manchukuo to Korea is within the same command. Question is - is he buying them out to go to the Philippines, loading at Fusan or Keijo? No other reason to move units down there at this time.
