Besides the two brigades of the 5th British Division that were involved with Operation Ironclad. Though not a division, you also have the British 29th Infantry Brigade (independent). Which followed the elements of the 5th British Division from Madagascar to India. Then later composed into the 36th

The 2 Br Inf was the motorised (i.e., heavy) reserve of the 14th Army in the spring of 1944, which meant it got assigned to go up the road and relieve Kohima. The 36th began as an Indian division and then was designated to hold the British Army troops of the 14th Army in preparation for their eventual removal from the theatre.

Both 2 & 36 Divs were trained in the Amphibious Assault role and were inteded to invade Rangoon/Sumatra etc depending on the plan.
When tha Japanese Drive on Delhi began, 2 Div was released from reserve and under XXIII Corps relieved Kohima.
36 Div went to the Northern Front (Fort Hertz?) and somewhere lost its Indian Bde.
It fought down the Irrawaddy valley and joined with the main 14 Army forces at Mandalay.

Nice data - but it fails to include when they enter PTO - where they enter PTO and - if there is a "proxy" unit - when that unit really enters PTO - and where? Is there any reason they are not included in CHS (and therefore RHS)?
Should they be included? If so - when - where - and what duplicated elements or proxy elements should be replaced (if any)? These queries may be answered with respect to the Madagascar op - if applicable.
