Once again the Chinese forces cheer, as they push two damaged divisions and a Bde back to Canton, the 1st day they achieved 2 to 1 and pushed 1 bde and 1 division, then second day 10 to 1 and the HQ and last partial division retreated. The road is open to Canton, Wuchow is surrounded. My troops in Changsa are recovered and ready to move out. I have encircled his troops in Chengting and only Base forces and minor speed bumps block my way to Peking.

As to the aircraft Patrick has adjusted, yes he has increased on both sides. I also agree the Japanese should be winning now, I play the game more by feel then exact numbers and so far it feels correct, maybe a little lopsided but no complaints as that happened in the real war at this stage. My main comment was we will have to see how the allied planes do later, as once again I cannot tell from the numbers only when they start falling from the sky. And I had no idea the Nate was the twisty little bugger it was.

PI, Manila holds a 0-1 looks like he just ran out of supply for all those troops by is adjusted attack. Also fort level went back to 2 :0).

To save lives the Emperor has ordered all Japanese land and sea forces to stop fighting as of today.  This is due to the current hopeless situation in China, which is completely out of control.  Never have I seen such a skilled defense that turned into an offense with Japan losing.  I cannot withdrawal troops from locations in China where I am in contact and thus have hundreds of thousands of soldiers trapped like flies on fly paper and they will not move.  One major army is surrounded and there will soon be another surrounded.  The only option I have is to send in the Southern Army to try and change the situation, and most of it is still in the PI. Also, any operations in China will take months, and leaving Burma as is, and thus allowing the British a strong foothold there, and so it all just compounds itself.  I just wish I could see the allied side of the map and units.  Tim played a very good game, and I found several things to adjust in my Mod, so thanks for playing.

The War is Over,

The Chinese have brought the Imperialist Japanese forces to their knees. The United States is moved to the status of a minor power, for its lack of effectivness in the war. Soon the Chinese will dominate the world politically and economically. Oh, getting ahead of myself by about 60 years.

I have truly enjoyed the game with Patrick, he has been both fair and an extremly competant and capable opponent. The two key to success for the Chinese are supply and experiance, with both they become a formidable opponent. As the war has come to an end the Chinese army has both. Most units experiance is minimum mid 50's with most in the 60's to 70's and climbing a few almost 80's. Morale is good for most units, and those that have been busted earlier near Nanchang have recovered very well at Changsa. I was fortunate in capturing over 45K supply at Nanchang and Chengting allowing my forces to continue their operations and recover quicker.

The only counter for supply is to bomb the chinese supply sources, or capture. This I feel stagnates the front, as the Chinese have enough to hold ground and play defense. This was also why I moved the AVG here (although ineffective) and would have moved more fighters to counter.
For every action there is a counter action, whether one is ready to go down that path is the option.

Patrick wondered why I invaded Akyab, and it was soley for the Chinese front. It tied him down longer from going for Mandalay and cutting off the ground route of supplies to china. Of course I was not going to state this during the war. China was a minor theatre to him. But it was a major theatre for me. Thus I lavished a lot of time planning and moving and his eye's were elsewhere.

The 3 key factors for me in China was the capture of Nanchang, forcing Patrick from his operations, 2) The liberation of those trapped units near Nanchang. 3) While his forces involved there, the combining of Human's and Yunan's armies to capture Chengting, and eventually traping an army there laying to road to Peking open.

I will take a few weeks off as I have still one PBEM going (current Dec 5th 1942) before I seek another game. Here is a map of China at the wars end.

Well, that certainly is an interesting outcome and very much in keeping with the belief that those Allied players who do poorly in China do poorly more because of their play than any sort of pre-determination.

I have similiar thoughts as Nemo. Since I'm a China fanboy I have to also say congrats stldiver on the victory!
