That damn Trusty put a torpedo into another AP.  Doesn't she ever run out of torpedoes? Skipjack also put a torp into an AP.  A small but powerful Allied TF (CA Pensacola, CL Perth and DD Voyager) caught my invasion force of 1 PG and half a dozen APs in the process of invading Lunga.  Fortunately, they had already disembarked the troops.  The pitiful Allied force managed to slightly damage 2 APs and the PG in return for a hit on the Perth.
 
Our only success in the air was a Nell dropping a bomb on an AK in Tjilitjap.
 
We took Lunga and a starving Dutch gaggle took Pinrang in the Celebes.  It was unguarded.
 
Haiphong now has a level 4 airfield.

Lots of activity but no bomb hit a ship. [8|]  One AK hit a mine though.  We did take Raba, and the 450 Dutch rabble there surrendered.  I finally got some troops to Buna.

Something wonderful happened today.  We got our first air reinforcement of the war!  It was a Betty Daitai formed at Takao.  They also lost a pilot and plane operationally. [8|]  Second air reinforcement comes in a week.
 
Well, Trusty is hanging around Merak.  A Lily unsuccessfully attacked her and then an ASW TF caught her.  We got only 3 near misses, but it's a start. [:D]
 
Damage to ships was one sided today, and on the wrong side. [:(]  The PG Akagi Maru (6" gun PG!) sank from old damage from Speedy's CVs up in the Aleutians.  Allied airpower in Java damaged 3 APs and 2 AKs at Merak.
 
On the ground things went better.  In addition to our daily bombing of Singapore and Manila, we captured Waingapau, Buna and Madang.

Nothing much to report today.  No ships hit on either side.  The highlight of the day was the Rowboat Corps taking Muntok.

Not much today other than more damaged Japanese ships.  The Jintsu hit a mine. [8|]  The S-38 and KXV each damaged an AK and an A-24 put a 500 lber into a PG.  Aside from that the Rowboat Corps took Masbate. 
 
The usual bombing of Singapore and Manila......

Rough turn. [:(]  It started out ok though.  A CL and 3 DDs caught another of those pesky Dutch PTs and sank her.  Then, Kitakami hit a mine.  Guess where?  Yeah, Merak. [8|] 
 
We took 3 locations.  The Rowboat Corps took Saidor.  So far so good.  Bruce captured Batavia.  There were 70 damaged resources and 430 undamaged ones.   I can live with that.  Then, Faber took Balikpapan.  There were 320 damaged resources with 70 undamaged ones and 384 damaged oil with only 16 undamaged ones. [:@]  That stinkin' island is going to cost 774k supply to repair. [X(] [:(]

Things are plodding along slowly, which is normal for this point in the war.  We continue to liberate the small bases around the Pacific while waiting for Singapore and Manila to fall.  An AP succumbed to old damage while an AP and AK were damaged by Allied air power. 
 
Hansa was liberated by the Rowboat Corps and Sawahloento was captured by Japanese paratroopers (arriving on foot).  Manila and Singapore were both deliberate attacked, causing about 4k Japanese and 2k Allied casualties at each location.  Singapore's fort level remains at 6 while Manila's is 0. 
 
A couple of other notes.  KB is south of the Aleutians on station in case of another incursion by Speedy's CVs.  My Chinese forces are moving north to liberate Honan.  Bruce has consolidated in Merak and Batavia and is moving south to liberate the rest of Java.  The 38th Div is preparing to move to Java to speed up that conquest.  Faber continues to clean up the small, unguarded bases around the southern part of the SRA.
 
Future plans include the invasion of Noumea.  To expedite this, 1 Guards Bde has been allocated to the SE Fleet AO and is currently on it's way to Truk.  Also allocated are an engineer regiment and a mortar unit.  There are also 2 Naval Guard units and an SNLF sitting in Tokyo awaiting transport to the SE Fleet AO.  When this operation occurs, KB will be sent south to support it.  I don't plan on invading Noumea until all of the bases in the area (around Rabaul and the Solomon Islands) are liberated.  I don't want to risk a TF sailing through one of those hexes and giving something away.  After the SRA is liberated, Bruce may invade Northern Australia.  We haven't discussed this much nor have we considered what forces to use.

I will have you know those paratroopers were air dropped. It was very deliberate.[:-][:D]

Slow day today.  We took Bandoeng and landed at Pinrang.  A MSW succumbed to old damage.

Today was rather unproductive.  The bright spot was that Miri's airfield reached level 2.  On the down side, the S-37 sank an AP and AK.  Fortunately, both were empty.  The KXV sand a damaged AK off the coast of Saigon.  [8|]

We received our second air reinforcement of the war:  the 61 heavy Sentai (Helen).  Our Nells scored a victory sinking an AK off Amboina.  Not sure what she was doing there sailing north. [X(]  At Truk, mines damaged the DD Hayate as well as an AP. [8|]  We're beginning to station MSWs at all the major ports to constantly sweep mines.  While not decisive, they are a nusance.

On the ground, the Rowboat Corps captured Salamaua.  There was a deliberate attack at Manila.  We lost 3800 soldiers to 765 Allied soldiers.  We must continue to grind them down with air and ground bombardment, as well as occasional deliberate attacks.

Edit: Tarawa's airfield reached level 3 today.

We received the I-28 as a reinforcement today.
 
Slow day today.  Ogliuga Island fell to the Rowboat Corps today.  We also landed at Benkolen.  The Snapper caused heavy damage to an AG.  Lae's airfield just increased to level 3.

We received an AP as a reinforcement today.
 
The AG damaged yesterday sank today.  At Batavia, and AP hit another mine. [:@]  Also, the I-21 was put down by 5 Allied DDs. 
 
Benkolen was liberated and our victorious troops landed on Tobali.  Bruce attacked Singapore again today.  We lost 4600 troops to 800 Allied troops.  Singapore is a thorn due to the large number of AA guns present.  Bruce takes pretty serious losses and damage to aircraft daily but continues relentlessly.

We received the 65 Fighter Sentai (Oscar I).
 
Our troops landed at Bandjermasin and Buin.
 
Our Bettys sank an AK and Dutch TIV.as lightly damaged the Yura.

We received the S-30 as well as G1/4 Daitai (Betty). [:D]
 
An APD ASW TF got 2 direct hits as well as 4 near misses on the Trusty.  We didn't see her sink, but at the very least, she'll be out of the war for awhile.  Dutch Martins out of Soerabaja damaged 2 APs and an AK.
 
On the ground we continue to gobble up the small bases all over the map.  We landed at Buin.  We also attacked Bali and Bandjermasin, wearing down the defenders.  Both locations should fall shortly.

The Rowboat Corps took Roti Island today.  We also landed at Lombok and took the hex SE of Honan in China.  Those forces are moving to Honan next.
 
We lost the CS Mizuho today to old damage. [:(]  I can't remember what caused that damage.  It happened somewhere around Java.  Maybe Faber or Bruce can elaborate.  We also saw the S-37 strike again - this time damaging an AK off Bali.  Damn sub. [:@]  A ML was damaged by a mine.  On the bright side, a Betty put a torpedo into the DD Vampire, heavily damaging her.
