Very interesting turn of events. I. Kershaw in "Fateful Choices" writes that this, the German-British alliance, is exactly what Stalin was afraid of before the start of Barbarossa. He thought (was paranoid about) that British appeasement was intended to encourage German attention eastwards and he tried everything possible to outdo Western appeasement by offering even more (i.e. resource deliveries) to stall Germany's attack until his own forces recovered from the Small Terror (or was it Great Terror) of the late 1930ies. He thought he knew how a dictator like A.H. thinks but mistrusted the Western Allies greatly (and they indeed wanted nothing to do with him initially).

"They call us aggressors for our wars on the Baltic states, but if we did not fight these preemptive wars we might have had the Germans fall on us unprepared, and end up fighting them in the outskirts of our great cities. Like Churchill I was worried about the strength of Germany, but while he forgives the west every action he persists in his hate for us. We have a common cause and will surely be allies against the Nazis someday." - J Stalin, SJrn (11/1939)

"Incredible treachery. If Churchill had Hitler's ear he could have negotiated an end to this war. Instead he joined with the devil and makes war on us. Not even the plutocrat American can stomach this filthy dog. We hear he sacrificed France and the Low Countries and Denmark and Norway, all under the German heel, all so he can have the Panzers fight for him. Hitler and Churchill, rotten peas in a pod!"
J. Stalin, SJrn (2/1942)

Wow, Great Britain and Germany [X(]. I'm eating up Germany and Axis allies now in spring of '44 of Barbarossa. Great Britain may be the next Soviet victim?

Your British will be tougher. The Germans and British fought an extended Battle of Britain in this one, and destroyed each other's wealth in the process. There is only so much a nation can do when it is weak, and I think both these powers are pretty weak. I am beginning to think about my next one, and am wondering about making Great Britain a neutral and having France be the head of the Western Allies. Later if the Soviets, or Germans, become too strong I could bring the forces of the West in.
