On my primary machine running 1680 wide its what I posted. Maybe a little better as it isn't converted to jpg.

Fine, thanks. It's what I wanted to know! [:)]

None of the screenshots are edited. They appear exactly as they are on my system. My graphics settings may be different from Mobius' so the graininess you saw is what it looks like on my system.

I capture these with the in-game screen capture (which creates a bitmap), load them up in Paint.Net and save them as 90% quality JPG to reduce the size to one that's appropriate for forum posting. That's it.

I assume the reference to Photoshop was that Mobius thought I was using that for screen capture or the JPG conversion.

- Erik

I don't know how much the graphics changed between PCWS and PCO, but looking at that may be a better judge.

IMHO in-game PCO looks much better than PCWS even on the same maps and the new maps are much improved over the older ones.

In the shot that represent the railroad combat, there is a Pz IV(?) in dunkelgelb and a Stug in Panzergrau; it's possible to have (maybe with a mod) different textures for same model of german tanks pre and post february '43?
For the same model tank you have to change the skin by a mod. Right now the only automatic change is from summer to winter textures. What we tend to do in scenarios is have later marks of the tank for later scenarios with the primary skin used. So you might use a Mark IVF2 for a battle in 1942 with grau texture and a MarkIV H or G in battle in 1943 which have dunkelgelb.

Here is what it looks like on my 8 year old 1024 wide screen XP machine.
Different setting produce different results.

Your map accuracy is to be commended. I am with everyone else - very smooth looking. I've always wanted to battle over terrain that is as accuractly depicted as possible. The two shots of the train yard are simply amazing.

The peat bogs near Minsk. It would be in these peat bogs that some of the most intense fighting of the summer of 1944 would take place.

I have a question. How does the map maker determine terrian and seasonal variations such as terrian and seasons in southern russia from northern russia. I would assume using the terrian editor you can moddify such settings to your liking. I watched the first map editor tutorial and I understand that it was about capturing the elevation or height of a certain map area using google map/earth. But how do you add snow on the ground, winter trees without leaves and winter weather conditions. Is this done by the terrian editor as the next step?

yes, there are some more Map maker vids in the pipeline, but to answer the question, once you have the map and elevation data, you can start adding textures and other map objects, and also designate muddy areas, and other things. there are tree models for both winter and summer.

A Soviet Rifle Company approaches a German-held settlement. This is from one of the Kharkov scenarios and maps, but while the map is the same, the gameplay is quite a bit better in Ostfront. If you've already played through the original campaigns, it's worth replaying them in Ostfront.

Open muddy fields are a bad place for Soviet tanks to play. Nine smoke columns can be seen in this SS.

Good Hunting.

It looks to be Kharkov L3A.

PointOfView in SS above is bottom right corner.

Great screens MR, thanks.  I love the tiger!  Is that a panther in the back ground?
