To reitterate a point given the recent heat this topic generated....I'm not an "Apple-hater" (My GF has TWO apples....an iMac and a MacBook Pro.....and i myself am using an older 13" Apple macbook dual booting XP/OS-X while i attempt to teach myself basic sodering so that i can repair the power connection to my Alienware laptop. It's allowed me to expand my resume in the process troubleshooting and configuring them) but I am sick of the hypocracy surrounding Jobs and his company. (or maybe i'm just sick of hearing about it period!) Even though Gates is long since retired, Microsoft tends to retain it's inept "Evil Empire" label while Apple seems to carry the "Cool and Hip" label even though if anything, it's tactics and goals are even more strong-armed and monolithic than Gates' former company at it's worst. Are people really so gullible that they don't see it or do they just not care because it makes them look so hip?

When I was in college , one of the many jobs I worked was in a pet store, running the tropical fish department. One night , some guy with lots of money and very little in the way of brains or taste (judging from the amount of "bling" he wore and his choice of "arm-candy"...the only word that adequetly described her was from my grandmothers generation,a "floozy") was laughing at one of our aquariums that contained an large and rare (back then) amazon red catfish , selling for $400.00. "What kind of an idiot would spend $400.00 for a fish!?!" He asked me. I replied, "Probably the same idiot that would spend thousands for a rock" I replied. The "floozy" started giggling at this point, seeing where this was going (maybe she wasn't that stupid , afterall). "What kind of idiot would spend thousands of dollars for a rock!?!" he next demanded. "I don't know, but how much did your girlfriend's earrings and your pinky ring costs?". I replied. With the girlfriend laughing his head off, he stormed out. I felt pretty smug, till I turned around and realized my boss had heard the whole thing! When he saw my face, he laughed and said "I wish I'd said that!". Whew![8|]

Like I said, it's all how you sell it. [:)]
