Greetings once again, been gone awhile. Some really nice work done while i have been out and about. So how do the races pay in-game? Does it have a Trek feel?

Welcome back Tophat1812.[:)]

It needs tractor beams and phaser arrays to have a great Trek feel, but it's still good.

The only decent Betelgeusian image is from the model display for The Motion Picture.

And the Jaradan are an insectoid race that resemble earth wasps. This is one of the first images I came across with a google image search.

If anyone wants to try to help me out here, it would be awesome. I'd like to give this guy some sort of signs of intelligence. Maybe some clothes, like a robe or something.

If I'm not mistaken one of these was also in Wes's group when he first applied at the Academy; or was it a bolian? It had a device to help him breathe.

I've come up empty so far

"The Jarada typically refused to allow aliens on their planet, having even shot down a vessel attempting to make an emergency landing".

That's why we can't find any images for them, those damn reclusive....things.
I'll keep at it.

Ah yes, indeed, Mr. Data, I remember that episode, from season 2, I believe. I rather enjoyed that one very much. To be truthful, I'm probably one of those rare Star Trek fans that actually liked the Wesley Crusher character. I never really could understand why many others disliked his character so much; I thought it fitted in quite well...

Maybe because he was not so well defined and involved as the others.
When we see the bridge through his eyes is still awesome.

That was a Benzite, Mr Data. The Betelgeusians were only seen on screen in the background IIRC.

I didn't mind Wesley much either, though I do understand the complaint. Here you have a crew of trained proffesionals, who have studied for years to get into Starfleet and have years of experience on top of that. In strolls Wesley Crusher and solves all the problems. Boy genius trumps everything, how often does that happen in RL?

Or as Sheldon Cooper would say: WHEATON!!!!  Sorry, couldn't resist it. Having found new life as Sheldon's arch nemesis on "The Big Bang Theory". So Igard, will Kirk era v1.1 work on the regular DW game with the latest patch?

I don't know the answer to that. It would be great if some one could test this for me. It would save me from installing a seperate game folder.[:)]

Wil Wheaton episodes are my favourite BBT episodes. He knows there are people out there that hate him and he just plays on it so well.[:D]

Yes Mr. Data, I use this image to represent the insectoid version of the Xindi
in one of my compilation mods I test with. Here is the color gif version:

Alright, alright I shall bite the bullet and...gulp..volunteer. I will try it out tonight and get back to you on it. Be prepared for a question regarding mod installation or two.

And you are right about Wil Wheaton on BBT,they are my favorites as well. I actually really am fond of the guy now and hope they put him in a cameo on some future trek venture.

Sorry. Completely missed this post, Data.

I'll see if I can adjust the colours to match the yellow and black description. I don't like the thought of using a race image that is a well known Trek species already (Xindi Insectoid).

I'll tinker with it a bit and see.

Tophat, the installation should be no different than with ROTS. Just follow the instructions in the original post.

I don't know if original Distant Worlds supports 20+ races, or more than 10 shipsets, or racial bias settings.

None of my mods use more than 20 races, so you can't test that. The Kirk mod doesn't yet have more than the standard number of shipsets, so you can't test that either. It does use racial bias, so you check that each race has the correct bias settings.

That's all really. Just make sure that mod runs ok, play it a bit and point out anything that seems wrong.

No Joy at all,I installed it fine, shows up in themes,I changed themes and "unhandled exception error." So it does not work in the latest patched standard DW incarnation.
