Turn 61, 8/13/1942

Quite a few 1 to 1 attacks break our fortifications - but before my turn we upgraded to 1.05 beta which should put an end to that.

We surround 3 Tank Corps instead of routing them out.

Turn 62, 8/20/1942

Slow progress, but at least the easy counter-attacks are a thing of the past. I'm also very happy to be seeing much fewer level 4 forts in the future. Of course our attacking days are almost over so it may not matter much. We add fortified zones to all level 3 forts.

Turn 63, 8/27/1942

Soviet breakthrough in the north.

And in the south.

We counter-attack in the north.

And in the south.

Our main offensive isn't making much ground. Time to bag some units, shorten the lines and dig in.

This will probably be the last offensive before we go on the defensive.

Turn 64, 9/3/1942

Finally a small pocket. Also some minor fighting in other sectors.

Turn 65, 9/10/1942

Soviet offensive with heavy forces near Leningrad. There is also a smaller offensive in the south.

200 000 prisoners - 10 divisions. Lighter fortifications mean we keep pushing to the northwest, maybe we can make another pocket?

The Italians are making themselves useful. The entire Romanian armies are in reserve further north.

Turn 66, 9/17/1942

No choice but to send some help north.

Time for a Velikie Luki pocket before mud comes. This will also free up all our mobile units which will soon be needed for defense.

Turn 67, 9/24/1942

Reinforcements arrive to contain the situation.

Lines must be shortened, despite the heavy cost.

There is consistent pressure near Rostov. Soon now reinforcements will be needed.

Not much to report.

Turn 74, 11/12/1942, Snow

Minor snow offensive. I'm quite frankly not sure how to proceed from here on. Historically this winter was the turning point, however, I don't foresee any large Soviet winter offensives. Maybe I'm wrong...

Turn 75, 11/19/1942, Snow

It's very uncharacteristic of Hermann to take any steps back.

I decide not to advance and just destroy the Soviet forts.
