More aggressive Poland towards Ukraine I'd really like to see. In this game I mostly concentrated in wiping out the Ukrainians, ie. securing my left flank, while keeping pressure on Tsaritsyn. In next game, if the Polish threat is real, I could first just partly secure Donbas, and go full scale against Tsaritsyn in 1919...

If the AI allows it, of course. [:D]

I will study Polish AI behaviour tomorrow. The Polish passivity in Ukraine is recurrent, so there's something wrong in my events. Sorry.

Let me know the fate of Voroshilov [;)]

Chliperic, Please tell me how to install this mod? I followed install instructions and its not working. Is there a way to tell if it installed correctly? The instructions were a little unclear to me.

Thanks

Bruce

Hi a short movie detailing step by step how to install Fatal Years may be watched here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BtU0m_oZXcw

Don’t forget:

- to install next the patch 1.111

- only the Grand Campaign is playable in Fatal Years for now, and only in English.

You’re not forced to create a “Revolution under Siege mod” folder. But this step will assure you to keep the original game safe.

Hope it helps [:)]

First I tried rather passively to keep his army unsupplied. I was pretty sure it was going to pull back successfully, but it moved east instead. Inexplicably there was no battle against Denisov's Corps vacating the region. On next turn I threw everything against it. Two battles ensued. The results can be seen below:

It was a crushing defeat for the Reds!

Meanwhile there's another "superstack", with a screen force, approaching virtually defenceless Kuban. It is my intention to throw everything against it as soon as possible. Like Napoleon in a smaller scale, I try to switch inner flanks in order to destroy superior forces one by one.

Well, the Reds are still 5.6 times stronger than SW, and my success at Kuban is not guaranteed. With latest requisitions I'm building the army up like crazy though.

Clovis, there's one thing I have meant to ask you about. How difficult would it be to "export" your changes to the scen that starts when Kolchak takes power? I've got a bit weary about the early part of the GC. If the initial stages don't go well for the SW, like when the Red AI decides to concentrate on them first, there's almost no way to succeed further on...

A lot, unfortunatly. And I will not have the time for before some weeks at best.

The new German help option for SW could help too to sustain initial Red onslaught.[:)]

Then Siberian may be played from start. Another sort of experience, few options, a brittle army but clear geographical objectives allowing to get a better situation with less intern unstability.

And there are Reds. Those who tried didn't found Whites AI to be hopeless [:D]

Good. [:)]

Change of plans in my game. Timely destroyed railroad stopped the Red superstack moving towards Kuban, and I have enough Cossacks there now to slow it down. I try to capture Kharkov as soon as possible.

Being the last, 1921 will be in your game the Fatal Year [:D]

For info the new ingame text presenting Siberian situation and victory perspective:

Your Army is very brittle, your faction bitterly engulfed into internal dissentions and you haven't much possible alliance perpespectives with minorities. But, as defeaats have many mothers and victory only one father, you may succeed if you control Cheboksary, Kuznets, Arzamas? Syzran, Penza, Samara, Kazan and Perm AND either Tzaritsyn or the Perm Archangelsk axis. If you fulfill these conditions, Allies will recon you as the only legitimate power in Russia. Thereafter, your reinforced authority will allow to end all infighting among your troops ( ie all events lowering their cohesion) and give you a boost in NM and EPs which should allow you to stamp out definitly the Red virus.

If I can keep NM near 140, I could recognize independencies before the summer campaign...

which is logical: your nM is high, but the AIl is now very low, the war must end as Russia is on the verge of exhaustion and Green revolts more and more frequent, so Whites must concede they can't win alone against Reds. in 1920, Wrangel did some efforts toward minorities: too late considering his hopeless territorial situation. You have a larger chunck of Russia and some recent victories.

Kharkov captured! The Reds have been stopped at Kuban although with heavy casualties. Their NM is 67 and mine is 139. I think now, in early December, is the time to recognize smaller nations - Judenits will be activated in the spring. Otherwise the Reds will come back with overwhelming forces after the winter...
