I confess to starting out with a few more.
I have resorted to having characters only with primary races... the Republic, CIS, HUTTS, criminals... [8D]
I am actually preparing to test again in a couple of minutes... I have another question I want to put out though...
After doing a search through the forums, Erik confirmed that there was no limit on characters or character images. I saw where you were trying to assign characters to the non-playable races, and I'd be willing to bet that is what caused the issue.

No, I did not do that; I was warned not to, so I did not try that.
It is time to try the old tried and true method... add one character file at a time and see where it blows up.

Typo maybe? And with all those characters in the list, it could be very hard to find. That's what usually happens to me.

What I am thinking about doing is taking all the ships I personally was involved in and putting them into a file for other people to use as they wish... I do not want to step on toes...
I do not particularly care for SW ships, not as cool looking as ST ships...

Anyway, I should have something for you all soon.

Ahem! Who needs cool when you can vaporize the surface of a planet with one ship? I'll take my huge, well armed Star Destroyers thank you. [:D] [;)]

On a side note through, you would probably like the Marauder Corvette, it has a ST look to it....that is it looks a lot like a Ferengi Marauder.

TJ, if you need to use any of my ships, don't hesitate. If you want them to look different, you can always play around with colours. Or do some cut and paste (move wings, engines etc).

Darth Maul stopped by but failed to get whatever he was after from my empire, and a bounty hunter managed to steal a territory map from me... but I have not really seen any character activity so far. I need to tweak their appearance.
And if they are not assassinated, the characters do seem to live a long time... and that is good.

The bad thing about clustering them from the start is the governor problem I mentioned in the main forum. They tend to stay put, so if you give 4 governors at start, you end up with 4 governors on the AI homeworld.

Spies, Admirals and Generals tend to fair a bit better though.

That's a good point Shark. I don't think I clustered anymore than 1 governor at the start, but I might have to check on that. After playing the Picard mod for a short time, I came to realise that it needed certain characters to make it feel more Trek. And that's probably the case with most mods that have lots of iconic characters. These guys have to be in there early or else they might never make an appearance in shorter games.

However, there has to also be enough characters to last the player deep into long running games. Still not sure if I've got it right!

I have not messed with governors a lot. I have a few in the Empire, but not many otherwise.
I did give a few to Black Sun (as it was a crime syndicate, and I wanted the governors to be sort of like Vigos (or mafia fathers).

I take it that you heard that Disney bought LucasFilm... a 4 Billion dollar purchase...

And they did promise a new film... [8|]

I need to check out one or two more things and then I can upload.
I still have not figured out how I am going to do it yet... I am thinking I will just upload the ships I created, this way I do not step on anyone's toes

I just want them to finish Clone Wars up WELL, not leave us hanging...

Old Republic MMMO game looks pretty sharp... a little violent, but a reasonable story line from what I can see.

Do like the asteroid base though, its quite interesting. In fact would be quite interesting to set that as the default pirate base...hmmm. I feel the need to mod again. [:)]

I have two asteroid bases; you are welcome to both of them. PM me and I will send you both.

Sorry, I do love the Vulcan Bomber. There was a very cool video on the last Vulcan mission during the Falkland Islands war. I think that Vulcan bomber is a really cool bird. I wish Harpoon had modelled that instead of the Victor tanker.
