T33 north (last turn of January)


I lost saves from turn 32, but I believe nothing major has happened then.

Soviet - 5 attacks (3W 2L) 3 wins and 1 loss vs Fins (only 1 attack vs Germans)
German - 3 attacks (3W 0L)


I have noticed, that Encircled stated to prepare himself for post-blizzard reality.

It is same old story - neither of the sides has to fight, so we both will emerge from winter in very good shape, what will favour me greatly because of my advantage in quality.

T34 weather (1st turn of February)


Snow in central and northern zones. I decided to make as many attacks as possible, just to blunt future Soviet advance.

It is still 1.05, so game will be unbalanced - I will profit from unrestricted snow offensive while Encircled will be hampered by command limits. So, I will be more able to mount meaningful offensive while fighting potential of Red Army will increase much slower.

In my opinion it is all consequence of lack of necessity to fight at all.


At the moment strong Germans guaranties mobile war in '42, weaker Axis might lead to trench warfare, prolonged trench warfare because of weakening Soviet forces in the longer run. It is premature but I feel that 1.06 is step in wrong direction. Time will tell.

T34 north


I am very weak here that is why my activity was very limited.

Due to the fact that central Russia does not have too many big towns and cities I didn't have enough strong units to make meaningful amount of attacks.

T34 south


Close proximity of big cities, plus favourable ground let me really enjoy spell of good weather here. My ego was boosted [;)]

Both OOB and casualties look ridiculous.


Number of tanks is incredibly high, I hope it will make difference in coming weeks.

Minor Soviet offensive vs Fins - 3 attacks (3W 0L). No moves against German forces.

I moved my panzers close to the front line. Shall see how it goes.

T38 weather (1st turn of march)

1 Soviet attacks previous turn - (0W 1L)


New month greeted me with rain. Weather prevented me from anything but moving into abandoned land.

All HQs build-ups got wasted.

T39 north


I have only handful of divisions here, so even with more favourable weather condition I would be able to push hex or two in one or two areas.

T38 centre


4th Panzer Army near Bryansk got completely paralysed.

I do not have enough troops near Smolensk to take advantage of snowy weather there.

T38 south


I have two panzer armies grouped in this area (1st and 2nd - 3rd is used as infantry army in AGC sector). Each of them is weaker then 4th that is fighting further north, but there are more infantry units in the south, so if Encircled won't retreat I will be able to punch hole in his defences without weakening my not too strong mobile units.

T39 north


Good weather all around.


My activity in AGN area is limited to its southern sector. Without support of mobile units I am settling for regaining some good defensive positions.

Encircled paid price for trying to hold his positions. 4th Pz Army was strong enough to create minor pocket even with limited infantry support.

T39 south


Despite withdrawing 1-2 hexes my opponent wasn't able to avoid pocketing - sheer weight and number of my panzers was enough to complete encirclement.


Unfortunately Encircled has taken enough precautions to avoid major disaster.

Unfortunately my game vs Encircled had to be abandoned.
