Results of Turn 34 at the end of turn.

Both "breakthroughs" dealt with and Bryansk area gets two panzer corps which should shut down the Red Army's push in the area.

Turn 35

Reds take a lot of casualties trying to attack me this turn. They had some success at bryansk and Sumy, but the Panzers showing up at Bryansk has put an end to that little problem.

Other than that new troops are staging forward,AGS panzers are preparing for an early snow turn it it comes.

At Tallinn the reds are running back to leningrad, so I wont get to crush anyone up there after all.

Turn 37

Failed to get a Screen of turn 36, so I'll just roll right on with the map at the end of turn 37. I spent some time goofing around with map mods, and decided to put the placenames mod in (thanks Redmarkus et. al.) I also messed around with the weather overlays with some new tools in paint.net and came up with some different weather graphics that are (to me) a little less harsh on the map and on the eyes.

Got snow in the south soviet zone, so we are starting early with counteroffensive.

Odessa got rolled over by XIV pzr corp, but they were evacuating anyway, I just "helped" a little.
III pzr corp rides the rails to Krivoi Rog and bashes away at the russians in front of 48th pzr corp.
48th pzr plus infantry of 11 army attack on a broad front, encircling a couple reds and shattering several others. 48th panzer ends up with a nice foothold across the frozen dnepr in preparation for the next turn.

In the north 4th panzer army is going to take the lead in the new offensive to Leningrad, and they start to filter west to the jump off point. A couple of FBD are moved up to support the advance with rrail conversion.

Turn 38

Snow the entire map!!

In the north 4th Panzer army starts its drive to finland

Around moscow 2nd, 9th and 16th armies begin morale building attacks, who knows we might retake moscow 8)

At bryansk my forces got abused a little bit in the last turn of the blizzard so I make some more morale build attacks which I dub "operation I'm the Boss".

From Bryansk south it is quiet, russians look to be pulling back.

In the south 1st panzer army and elements of 11 army blast through the russians lines behind the frozen Dnepr and pocket a few unlucky red troops. Some SS motorised troops continue on towards sevestopal overruning new forts along the way.

Overall: kind of fun to be on the attack again, not much accomplished except for the drive towards leningrad and some decent morale gains across the board.

Turn 39

4th panzer army continues driving to Finland, proposed avenue of advance in dasehd lines

More morale building towards Moscow.

Lead units of Panzer Army Guderian start arriving by train in the Bryansk

First panzer army blasts though the Crimean choke points and effects a breakthrough south to sevastopol. Note that the breakthough is from units that have moved 300 miles in 3 weeks.

Turn 40

I messed up and did not get screenies from the end of T40, start of T 41 is posted with the general flow of turn 40 marked with the lines.

Guderian starts rolling towards Orel, accompanied by stragglers from 3rd panzer army and 4 army.

4th Panzer army drives to the southern shore of Lake Ilmen, but the Ice proves to weak over the lake to allow further advance. Looks like they will have to run over more Redskis next turn.

More morale build attacks towards moscow, (not shown, nothing spectacular)

Mud in the Crimea Euro zone bring 1st panzer army to a halt, IIRC some redskis try to cut us off and pay the ultimate price for the motherland.

Turn 41

Messed up end of turn screenies again so have pics from the start of turn 42

Short story is: 4th panzer establishes some bridgheads across the rivers and gets some supply

Guderian absorbs some stragglers and makes a major push pocketing several russians and getting prepared to bite off Orel if decent weather happens the next turn. As you can see from the start of turn 42 screens we got mud over the entire map.

Turn 42

Mud.

Turn 43

More mud.

Turn 44

Even more mud

Nothing happening but shuffling and refitting and rail building.

Did some army reorganizing and built some forts.

Weather Gods are favoring the redskis at this point 8)

Turn 45

Snow in the Central Soviet OMG!!

In the north 18th army infantry continue to close on the russian lines and begin the long process of fort clearing on the way to Leningrad.

4th panzer army makes clever use of the cold fronts to skirt the shores of Lake Ilmen, driving over all opposition.

Panzer Army Guderian (+) strikes like lightning, driving 50 miles into the russian lines, with red army shattering or routing in the front of their Juggernaught like advance..... In the process of the advance a new russian formation called the "10th tank corp" is crushed after offering feeble resistance.

Torrential rains and melting ice over the rest of the front preclude operations for yet another week.

Turn 46

Another turn of mud across the front.

4th panzer widens its corridor to the north of lake ilmen

Guderian sloshes around south of Orel.

Everyone else tries to stay dry and fails miserably.

Turn 47

Mud.

Qball must be a little worried about clear weather, in a lot of places he is backing up where there is no real threat from my units facing him.

For the most part I trudge along in his wake.

Orel fell without a fight this turn, and Kursk was liberated with 2 panzer corps that couldnt do anything else productive until the rail lines catch up.

4th panzer army does a little bit more attacking to set the stage for the summer offensive.
