Close enough. Any tank armed with a cannon was described as 'male'. Tanks with MGs only were 'female'.

The answer is:The first shot was fired by commonwealth forces was from PT. NEPEAN ARMY BASE which is on the eastern side of the entrance to PT. PHILLIP BAY at a german freighter [ THE NAME ELUDES ME NOW

]which had left the PORT OF MELBOURNE at the time of the annoncenment of declaration of Englands and subsequently Australias inviolvement in the conflict.A warning shot was fired accross the bows and the captain of the vessel wisely stopped and along with the crew lived happily ever after.
The incident with the Graff Spee mentioned was i think our ANZAC brothers first incident of the war.

OK guys, try these.
1) Moscow and London where never invaded during WWII. What other capital of Europe avoided this?
2) Who was the ace, who made a world record in autumn 1939 by shooting six bombers on a same mission? (Btw, he run out of ammo but landed safely at the base!)
3) What type was the aircraft of that ace?
4) What country had three separate wars and made two different peace treaties during WWII?
5) Right or wrong?
A) T-34 was tested with a 100mm. gun
B) One american army division had swastika shoulder symbols until the end of 30's.
(Swastika is an old symbol of good luck, used a lot in india, printed on some czarist russian money, and used here and there in skandinavia. No suggestion of any nazi-sympathies in US army here!!!)
C) Hitler's railway car was originally named "Amerika"
D) A five engined twin-fuselage version of Heinkel 111 was made in germany
Ok, here goes ...

On a side note: Couple years ago some friends checked the drop site of one of those DB-3's. They checked the spot with metal detectors and found quite a lot of small stuff..engine parts, bullets and various miscellanous small metal parts.

Hi, Omaha is not a state. It is a city in the state of Nebraska.

OK, I know this is a wrong answer ... but when presented with the initial D-Day plans, Monty replied: "This will not do. I must have more in the initial push". Pretty characteristic of Monty if you ask me ...
Tuff questions, Mother ...

the answer to this one.
Mother wasn't referring to Willys answer...
"This will not do. I must have more in the initial push"...
but his real statement may be equivalent.

yes,yes MR. WAX ON WAX OFF:after reading the correction [viz.a viz. battleships] I had "states on the brain" during the posting ;should read PLACES,however the answer is still pertinant especially to those who can point fingers but give no answers ,despite the sacrifice of others
AND THE ANSWERS ARE!{DRUM ROLLL PLEASE!!!}
#1 answer
Both places don't have beaches

[method in their madness I suppose]
#2 answer

Here's an interesting one: what was the last war in which troops wore chainmail? [:'(]

In regards to the chainmail question, I have a debatable answer that the flak jackets worn in WWII bombers were of a similar construction to a type of mail armor with plates, mind you it wasn't exactly chainmail.
Here's a question-- no Internet or Google allowed. I saw it on Discovery channel but have no immediate resources to back it up. The answer is either right or wrong though.
What mammal was considered for use in 'fire bombing' Germany? Live tests were carried out, but the plan was eventually scrapped and never made it past the allied country's border.
Hint: The animal was chosen for its tendency to go to dark recesses such as those found in a factory.
Edit: Go ahead and use the 'Net and see if you can find it. I'll give more hints if this actually is something someone is reading and is curious about.
