Just not sure where to put it here or in the Land thread so I post again:
Scenario 001 Full Campaign:
Please check the M10 Wolverine TD, first I wonder if the start of production in June 43 is OK as I read that it already started in June 42 besides that there is a TD unit that comes already equipped with M10s in May 42 the 632nd Tank Destroyer Battalion ID 5136.

Hello

1.) Download the files
2.) Rename it from .zip back to .exe
3.) Run the exe and it will install the new files

Hope it helps....

Follow the steps in the picture. This will give you a new icon on your desktop which, when clicked, will install your new scenario.

The Yokoyama Tai outside PM seems to be missing components. Is this intentional?

Problem still exists. Also some Headquarters and replacement units show this.
Seems to be caused by all these units refering to Devices in the 265-296 range which was already outdated and has now been removed (and good all WitP still does not check database consistency).
You have to replace the following devices in the editor (sometimes best guesses as devices changed names)
265->709
267->711
280->736
281->739
282->740
284->745
285->746
286->747
296->770

in the Yokoyami Tai LCU, some Naval HQ at the beginning of the location list and to locations 4440-4442.
No idea if editing and saving from the editor completely destroys the scenario, though as the editor is supposed to no longer handle all attributes.

Edit:
At least the AI files get copied only partially.

Hi Andy,
I've been playing the 1119(?) beta version for a while now and haven't really
checked in to this website in a long time. Since I've been away there is a new
mod call DaBabes which has AI changes, Maps, and scenarios? And there is an
update to the Beta version as well: #7? All correct so far?

Since I am in Aug 44 current game I don't think I'll be throwing everything in and hoping
it all mixes with current game.

Are the DaBabes scenarios only able to be played as Allied? Japanese?

Thanks,

DaBabes is mainly database changes. Betas by michaelm are changes in program and can be implemented to ongoing game. I strongly recommend to upgrade to latest beta, since Betas address lot of issues.

You can play DaBigBabes as Allies..but AI cannot use special units. On the other hand, DaLiteBabes is completely compatible with stock AI scripts, it just addresses and modifies many data aspects, making the play more realistic.

I played the new scen 2 now to mid march 42.

Looks very good, the scripts "screwed" a lot of my "standard opening moves" :)

Without too many spoilers for other people:
Luganville is lost even after reinforcing it, killing all my defenders (2 base focres, 3 arty and one cavalry unit from australia), Nomea was lost before i was able to reinforce it. Port Moresby, Johnston and Palmyra gone, Tahiti gone, also Hiva Oa. DEI is neaerly complete taken, Singapore gone early march, had to abandon Rangoon early (great move!). Stalemate in china, but some units bypassed Nanning and havn't been seen since them (despite sending an cavalry unit after them, i still have no idea where they are now!).

I never fight back much before mid '42, to give the "AI" all it wants. But this time i see a harsh time getting enough troops to retake all those small but important isles fast enough. Will be an much more interresting game. :)

I only noticed one major AI mistake by now (not really sure if its a mistake of FoW), but its still sending Carrier attacks to Midway. Sometimes much larger then before (60+ dive bombers + fighters), but sometimes only some nates + 10-15 dive bombers.

Will try to remember to post an update every 3-4 months of gameplay.

Comparing the updated files to the original scenario files shows that the devices are no longer present in the new database.

Playing as Japan, using Scenario 1 (and the new 10/12 scripts), and just noticed that the Dutch "dot base" at 70,109 does not have a name. I loaded up a much earlier (v1.01b) game as Allies, and the base does have a name (Tockangbesi-eilanden), plus I'm playing with a very recent beta (1.123) as Japan so I'm guessing the problem is in one of the new data base files.

It's pretty easy to see if your game has this problem - just hover the cursor over the base, and the base name box expands to cover the whole width of the screen.

- is there a newer scen update for scene 1 than from post no.10 ?

just wondering... everything looks fine with that dotbase on my side of the ocean...

chem!

To reprise yesterday's post, you are correct. My first Day 2 save immediately after the Day 1 events was fine, and so was another after some limited changes. But by the time I had completed the full set of changes laid out in the AE-Japan spreadsheet, that base name (and at least one other up in the Aleutians) was corrupted. Which is strange, because you wouldn't think that simply saving the game could corrupt the database.

Hey all.

I'm taking another crack at learning the game (after a moderately successful attempt some six months back). I was looking for the latest beta when I also found this thread. So my question, founded in total ignorance, is quite simply... what exactly are these files? I mean, ok I get they're some sort update to the AI, but beyond that I'm not certain. Are they meant to go along with changes from the more recent patches? Are they required/highly recommended to everyone? Or are they more like mods, for old hands looking for a new challenge? Perhaps they're incomplete or experimental, unfit for general consumption?

Since I'll be playing against the AI exclusively for quite some time (who knows if I'll ever be reay to try mp), I'd like to have an AI as capable as possible.

Beta is exe changes only. These are data file changes. Yes, you want these.

anyone have issues changing zip to exe in windows 8 ??
I tried the above, but Windows 8 (not my friend) does not allow save as
so I downloaded a scenario.
renamed it to scenariox.exe but when i try to open.
windows 8 says scenariox.exe.zip

compressed folder xxxxxxx.exe.zip not valid

Just an idea, since I don't know Windows 8 (I use my PC for gaming. Nobody wants Windows 8 if they're into gaming... or if they're into anything else, honestly), but I can't imagine the fundamentals are all that different:

It sounds like you haven't got the file type showing when you rename it. You should be able to simply highlight the ".zip" and type ".exe" over it. Make sure you've got the full file names showing so you can do that.

You'll get a little message asking if you're sure, hit yes, that's it.

Oh, and you can definitely "save as" in Win8.

That particular thing is the same in Windows 7. It's one of the first things I change when I set up a PC.
