Here are the two versions I have :
1.06. xlsb
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1NKXNft ... sp=sharing
and
1.15b.xslb
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1JVnOCV ... sp=sharing
Don't ask me the differences, I have never used either of these editors.
Best wishes for the new year to all, Didier.

Here is a zipped file with the 1.08, 1.13d and 1.15b editors.

Be sure to import the scenario data files as these editors likely contain edits I have made. Make a backup of the original .DAT files too.
Also note that changing the aircraft devices (armament) in the Aircraft tab only changes the information shown in the in game weapons data display. To actually change an aircraft's weaponry you need to do that in the Groups tab. Tedious to be sure, but can be expedited by using the Excel sort function. "Discovered" this as a result of wanting to eliminate the "killer" Allied light and medium bombers which were deadly to the Luftwaffe fighters due to the inclusion of forward firing guns (and cannon in the case of the A-20) which were used for strafing (not possible by level bombers in game) not for defensive fire while flying in formation, but obviously included in the defensive fire program routines.

Yes you can and you would also run the risk of totally screwing up your game. Use with caution.
Seeing as you are very knowledgable in realm of digital 1's and 0's. Would you be interested in creating a new one of these for us? If not perhaps you could tackle a new message reader, I know that would be well received by the players.
Just askin'.

In order to load a savegame file, you need an external program called 'btr_decode.exe', which decrypt the savegame file.
IIRC the author of the editor had to remove it, because there was the possibility to 'cheat' in a PBEM game.
...
I just recently started working with the Editor v1.15b and eventually it works fine for me in 64bit Excel. My intention is not so much to create /adjust scenarios, but to rather use the data to crunch the numbers while playing the game and to monitor my progress.
I was able to completely load the latest Scenarios (from Game v1.06.83HFX1) and dump the scenario start data into a separate Excel-Sheet for further processing in Power BI (see attached screenshot).
I am mainly playing BOB CG 40, so all my analysis focusses on that scenario. However, I also loaded the BTR43 CG Data and it works as well.
While the scenario based data already provides a lot of insight into the starting game, with all its resources etc, it would be fantastic to be able to load "savedgames" to further monitor/analyse the progress of the scenario while playing the game.
Apparently this was possible many years ago with a tool called 'btr_decode.exe'.
As the original seems to be lost, I was wondering if anybody on the forum still has it.
I have never used it, so I would like to understand how it worked and if there is any chance to relaunch the initiative.
I would also appreciate some ideas, how the data structure within the save game file differs from the the scenario.dat files. I bet, there is a lot of similarities but the data seems to be encrypted.
Cheers
Terry

The development team is able to load a saved game using a passkey that was provided by Matrix several years ago. It was essential to have this feature so that we could finally balance out the fuel/oil supply features and other industry bugs. It's been a while since I loaded a saved game and for some reason now I can't get the in-game messages to load which usually means that the data offsets have been nudged by changes I made in the code. I forgot how I used to debug this but it will come back to me.
I'll look into this more and provide an editor loaded with a typical saved game when I have some time. The saved game will provide a snapshot in time of all of the targets, industry and ground units and a rough idea of production status but having the in-game messages to scroll through was definitely a plus.

OK here is the editor with the first turn of the 1943 Campaign loaded. I got the messages to load but the time stamp of the messages is off by 25 minutes. and the mission tab doesn't load the types of missions. These are minor editor bugs that I'm not going to worry about for now. I think the big takeaway here are the industry values in the locations tab, and you can see all the ground units and flak loaded up. For now this is as far as I am going to take this.
