Vichy was declared. Germany could have denied Vichy and gone for conquest in Sep/Oct but preferred not to go for Spain and to have Vichy control of Minors rather than Free.
French.

As it turned out though, Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia went Free French together with the Pacific Territories. Equatorial Africa where France had sent their Cruisers and Transport went Vichy.

Those Vichy rolls are hilarious. There are times when you think your dice are laughing at you. There are other times when you are certain of it. [:)]

P.S. Declaring Vichy was correct, IMHO. It is too late in the year for a good Spanish campaign, and there is no other reason to not declare Vichy.

good stuff as always, thanks!

maybe the reverse Vichy outcome and the involvement of the Portugese colonies in the war will make for some unexpected micro campaigns in Africa… ??? those Japanese cruisers sail pretty fast, iirc

Mozambique has already been taken by a CW South African unit. Japan has divisions that are able to sail to Portuguese controlled areas but their Divisions are tied up in the interior of China
