I'm fairly certain that the file was labeled correctly. On the other hand, I'd just had a hellish day and had just downed two bottles of wine when I began to play the turn so something might have gone amiss. In hindsight it probably was not a particularly good idea.....lol.
I'll look at the file again tonight when I get home and see what I can get something sorted out.

Ok, I replayed turn 35 again as Germany & Italy, and labeled the file correctly (as I'm fairly certain I did last time). Anyway this time I was totally sober.....lol. It is now Japan's turn - GD1938Japangame18turn35.
If there is some problem this time, I'm pretty sure its not coming from this end.

Haven't drank alcohol since 1984 but when I did drink I couldn't drink wine, made me deathly ill the next day, Got drunk on it one time and spent 3 days sick recovering.

Japan takes it's turn (finally). The Chinese almost cut off the bulk of the retreating Japanese army with an armored thrust to Seoul, but a last ditch counterattack opens a road to the south. How long the way south can be held is the question.

The USSR is at peace, but looks about at a world at war.
There is very little contact among the nations now and only the map reveals how things seem to be going.

I did the same years ago with vodka. I was also 3 days recovering and was deathly ill as well. Basically I cant drink anything made from potatoes or rice. It does NOT agree with
me at all.

Seoul, despite fierce Japanese resistance was captured clearing the way for a advance on Pusan this does not mean that the Japanese forces streaming back through the Korean Peninsular into Mongolia are without supply, only that supply line grows more tenuous.

The Japanese forces have been forced back to their home islands. We are turning every rock and every piece of coastline and every village and city into an armed fortress. We will defend Japan to the death!!!

I have attacked a Japan in that mode and it was fun, and I believe fun on both sides.
I hope it works that way for you.

China received this message which can be ignored any player with the USA and China should be able to gain this kind of victory without to much effort.

So we're still playing this one then?

Up to everyone else, there should be a house rule that a player with USA and China cannot win with China even if the victory page flashes up. So easy to beef up China to the point where Japan cannot handle China. Some advice to Japan it may be a idea to DOW on the USA if they are arming China it reduces the flow of weapons to China, of course it creates other problems possibly war with Great Britain and the US fleet to deal with plus the cutting of US oil, on second thoughts maybe its not such a great idea to DOW on the USA.

I can play on...as Japan this was my first game ever of GD38 mod and PBEM (Dropbox). I learned a lot and agree that it would take a more competent player to stop that juggernaut. And all my complaining was in the ear of the Soviet player. [:D]
But whatever the rest want to do is fine with me.

Not really a matter of competence, I checked my comment to see if I had implied it was, its just a matter of production volume, the USA has more production capacity than Japan, so if you take the Chinese and US production combined, Japan is likely to be overwhelmed. I notice where China and the USA are played by separate players with different war aims, you very rarely if ever get the level of cooperation to compare with one player playing both powers. Its one of the reasons that Larry will not play Japan if China and the USA are played by the same player.

I must take some blame. I was ready to attack Urumqi but did not relies the urgency. I was nervous Mukden was not
enough, and I had once asked Ernie about the cities necessary but it slipped my mind that he said Manchuria was not needed.
I would be delighted to continue this game.

To my opponents.....guys, I'm moving to Sydney, Australia this weekend (20th), so I'm going to be out of the loop for a while. I'm not sure for how long but hopefully it wont be longer
than a week.
To all those that have gone through this experience of moving house before, you have my condolences. I don't think I've been so exhausted in all my life. Just when you think you've
got everything done and ready, something else comes up that needs to be taken care of. This process continues and continues and continues.......

Some tank formations of the Red Army entered Italian territory.
I realize there will be a delay while the Italian commander shifts his HQ!
I hope the move goes well, and this turn will wait till you are ready.

Hi guys......sorry for the long delay. Had family issues and things to deal with when I arrived here.
Should be back up and returning files by Monday or Tuesday when internet issues get sorted out.
