Jess's XXX Corps are moving up the Single road of the "Island".. He is shelling both sides of the road and Popping Smoke........Where the HELL are my Reinforcements!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Island is clear for at least 10 hexs north of the Bridge...I spotted a Ammo Truck, a HT and a MkIII guarding my left flank as I try to get into some open ground.

Arnhem Bridge still seems so far away!:(

This turn I reinforced my bridgehead on the island and start to fall back a hex or two to re-group. I have a wild mix of Brit armor, US AB, Polish AB, and 1 nuke:eek:

To Date...not this thread and battle, but my own wargamming history is my "G-Day"...

My first ever wargame was Panzer Leader... May 1975! My mom got it for me as a Birthday Gift....

After that ...I dont remember much. I moved onto Squad Leader...
Ahhhhhh yes...SQUAD LEADER, good ol' ASL!, If I had to guess I would say I designed over 500 scens for SL all for self-play or vs. my Good friend Don (Aberdeen pics). Then all the Historical ASL mods!
Was/is there a god? I must have played a few hundred of those battles.

the there was "Battle of the Bulge" !!! Momma!

But!!! my all time favorite boardgame was "The Longest Day" by AH...man what a game!

I played these games year after year! until....the PC!

After a breather the might of XXX Corps and the US airborne spread out and ready themselfs for the final push to Arnhem...On the left a lone German Ht holds (did) the flank..A Brit SPAAA gun puts him out of action..besides a Brave (stupid) Panzer crew foolishly fireing on a 82nd AB Thompson squad...guess who won:rolleyes:

guys, reading this thread is great fun - seieng how 2 people are playing a PBEM I am also involved in - I guess as the German I now have knowledge of how the Allies are composed!!! Guess my opponent has also been reading this.

Jess, this PBEM is superb - when I saw you had done Market Garden I just had to see the map - puts my limited attempts really to shame but just wait til I devise a map for the German invasion of Britain (from Norway to Newcastle and the down)

Playing it has been Incrediable!!!!:D
