Army Group South
Army Group South has a tough task ahead, breaking the defense line behind the Don Major River. Romanian forces have been asked to form a defensive line East of Rostov so that Germany can focus on a breakthrough towards Stalingrad.

Northern Finland
The "Engelbrecht" Division along with Finnish Infantry have captured the town of Kandalaksha after dispatching the local Garrison en route to Murmansk. This is truly a patchwork force which have fought admirably without HQ support in the cold and snowy far North.

The City of Leningrad is near completely besieged from the Northern and Southern gates of the city. The local occupiers were hammered this turn down to 2 and 3 strength respectively. Leningrad's demise is imminent and this will be the first major victory for the Axis on the Eastern Front, and will allow me to divert my Tanks southward this summer. Overall the defense of Leningrad could have been handled better by USSR if more forces were defending the city rather then southward near Lake Ilmen.

A long overdue Portuguese surrender as Franco's forces occupy Lisbon. It looks dire for the remaining British forces trapped in the town of Huelva. I will soon have to decide where to direct Spanish troops next.

Axis Naval forces are massing in the Mediterranean under intense cover of the Luftwaffe, meanwhile the situation in Tripoli is not good.

Tripoli has fallen to the Allies this turn, and the Axis have almost no military presence in Tunis to stall the Allied advance. Near Malta combined Axis Navies of Germany, Spain, Italy and Greece have sunk a UK Heavy Cruiser and Aircraft Carrier under the cover of the Luftwaffe.
Spain
The last remnants of British forces have been removed from the Portuguese/Spanish Theater.
Eastern Front
Stalingrad is occupied by combined Finnish and German Forces.
Norwegian Sea
Russian Destroyers are sunk as they stumbled upon German Wolfpacks.
The Atlantic
The U-boat campaign has lost lost some steam due to German submarines returning to port and more importatnly increasing presence of Allied destroyers.

Technology
Germany made some much needed leaps on the Technology front this turn, receiving Advanced Tanks III, Advanced Aircraft III, Advanced Subs III, and Industrial Tech II all at once.
The Atlantic
The Italian Submarine group that was raiding in the Atlantic was destroyed near the Canary Islands.
North Africa
Spanish Forces have begun to arrive in Tunisia as they have been tasked with protecting the underbelly of Europe from Allied invasion. If I lose my last foothold in North Africa I fear it will only be a matter of time before Italy crumbles.

Eastern Front
Army Group North has not yet been able to free up troops as Russian infantry and Armour are still present just north of the City of Leningrad. I am eager to move my Tank units elsewhere and will try to stabilize the position as soon as possible.
Army Group Center has not made much ground on taking Capital of Moscow, although combined German and Hungarian forces inch closer to the Capital en route from South of the city regions.
Army Group South is facing swarms of Russians and have not been able to break the lines behind the Don Major River.

British and Spanish forces clash near Kasserine Pass in Tunisia, a British Corps is hammered down to 1 strength. This is significant morale victory as it has been sometime since I have met the Commonwealth forces head on in North Africa and felt the ability to punch back. Axis Aircraft are near Tunis and are in good supply providing support to my defending troops.
Northern Finland
The attack on Murmansk has begun, I am unsure if this group can take the port city but I am hopeful.

I have finally stepped across the Don Major River after breaking the Russian defensive line. The road to Stalingrad will not be an easy one.

The Holidays Are Over!
The hiatus has ended, back to the game.
Eastern Front
The battle for Moscow is a dog fight, possibly more so then it needs to be as I have not focused my Tanks towards this objective, and much of the German Air fleet have ended up near the Mediterranean to counter the Allied air superiority over Tunisia. Given that the season is about to turn to fall I am not confident that the Capital will be captured before the turn of the year.

Tunisia
Spanish infantry and Tanks supported by Axis air have destroyed a UK Tank Group along the Kasserine Pass. The victory is significant as Allied Armour was been running amok throughout North Africa for nearly 2 years. This should take some bite out of the Allied offensive.
Atlantic
German submarines are slowly trickling back into the Atlantic from Norway. The Atlantic campaign was put on hold due to a combination supply issues and transfer of raiding forces into the Mediterranean to support Italy.

Eastern Front
German Tanks have pounded their way towards Voronezh, an attempt to find a weak hole in the Russian defensive lines. South of the city we have cleared the ranks of Russian soldiers which held behind the Don Major River. However the forested area offers little supply, so capturing the capture of Voronezh will be critical as we hope to flank southwards towards Stalingrad.

Tunisia
Axis forces have managed to destroy another UK Unit, this time a reconnaissance formation near the Kasserine Pass. I have rebuilt and re-deployed the German "Afrika Korps" in Tunisia. German air power has proven be a decisive factor, though I am suffering on the Eastern Front without my Bombers.

Algeria
Italian and Spanish forces have landed and captured the Capital of Algiers. The move gives the Axis some ability to manouevure in North Africa should the Commonwealth forces manage to push back what was the Axis last defensive line at the Kasserine Pass. Axis submarines will also have more options to return to port from Atlantic. By 1943 I hope to return to full scale Atlantic raiding.

German forces have largely been dispatched to other front lines in Russia leaving only a small force to engage the Russians East of Leningrad. I do not expect much action in this sector unless the Russians are able to go on the offensive once again. The Finnish have encountered a Tank unit which will certainly hinder their advance.

German Armour have gathered for one final push towards Stalingrad before the weather turns. Stalingrad was the major objective of the summer offensive but the Russians were successful in forcing my advance north west of the City. Romanian forces have proven formidable in defending any Russian offensive on Rostov.
