What happened to the Vietnam Combat Operations by Stéphane MOUTIN LUYAT aka Boonierat webpage??? Very disappointed it may not be up any longer? I love his series but never got to download or play the entire series. Anyone out there know?

I would love to play them as well; this is a total loss to the TOAW community if we can't download the rest of the scenarios?

I downloaded the entire series a few years back; if that old hard drive will boot, I can send anyone the files via email. It would be a chore for me so I'd rather someone else would post the series to a web page before I do that. It would involve me dragging a tower out of storage and hooking it up etc. A real chore for me.

I'm sure there are peoples here that have the series archived. If you're worried about legalities: there are none. It has long been in the public domain, and always will be despite anyone's objections to the contrary.

Don't believe me? Sue me and find out.

Looks like at least part of the series can be downloaded from this 2021 archive of his webpage.

I don't think re-use is an issue here. In this thread, there is mention from Stephane that Rob Kunz could download and modify the scenarios; I doubt he was too concerned about minor mods to the scenarios.

Cheers

I suppose those files work well with TOAW3.
In TOAW4 there is one evident problem - unit names are not shown in scenario.
Game loads it correctly (values and flags) but does not show names. It can be fixed by editing it manually with names from eqp file, but it takes time. I tried it with ARVN MP Team (M3A1) as you can see on picture.
So the question is: did anyone tried it and succeed? Anyone has working eqp file with names?

sPzAbt653 wrote: Wed Oct 02, 2019 4:22 pm Rob, the thing is that those counter sheets will not be used in TOAW IV no matter where you put them. TOAW IV uses a different sheet, just one, and it is called Counter_Units. You can modify that one all you like, but you can only use that one sheet. If Stéphane used more than one in his scenarios, then you will have to try and noodle through them to see what changes were made, and if it is possible to transfer them to the 'new' Counter_Units. If he only used one sheet, then we can easily transfer his graphics to IV.
sPzAbt653, you worked your magic in putting the modified icons in one counter sheet!!
(i.e. "Airmobile Antitank" is now "CIDG"). That covers >90% of the icons needed to match the 8 Counter_Unit sheets in Stéphane's TOAW3 version.

But than means scrolling through the ~2,000 units in each of the 14 scenarios and then changing them to the appropriate icon as needed. (My mouse-clicking trigger finger is sore.)
Stay tuned...

Here is a sample of one of Stéphane Moutin-Luyat's manuals. (there is one for each of the fourteen scenarios!). Not only does it detail the historical context of those four months, but it also includes the game counter modifications, and a list of abbreviations and Vietnamese terms.

4.2 Mission Victory Points:
Each mission that the human player fulfills will earn him
victory points, the exact number will appear in the Recent
News panel

For example:
28 Apr. MISSION: A new CIDG camp opens at A Luoi
(108,30), secure the site and build the camp for
detachment A-102a.

This is a pdf file, and I am not sure if it will add as an attachment.
