actually HLYA again I don't think that AA result is out of the ordinary.....losing about 25% of attack aircraft trying to hit a port defended by 800 AA guns isn't insane at all.


You can look at carrier battles in the pacific as well to get some better representations of what concentrated AA can do to airstrikes.


As well as the war went on German AA fire was as much if not more dangerous to allied pilots that actual Luftwaffe fighter aircraft...cant remember the statistics but the Allies actually lost a lot of aircraft to AA fire.


Also I remember in my game vs Pelton long ago when he concentrated German AA in front of my main attack sector I lost a ton of planes each week.....think I even commented on it...as between shot down and damaged planes I basically had to rest the red airforce after 2 turns of ops due to losses in airframes and morale and that was 43/44. Again tho…..its takes concentrated AA to get those effects. Those german planes flew into almost 800 guns mainly larger AA guns trying to strike a port which is a smaller target footprint in all actuality.

Simply put HL is a very hard opponent to play against and I didn't have the frame of mind and energy available currently to hack it
