Pocket eliminated and PZ's don't move much. Another unit falls victim to candy and is surrounded. I mass bombers behind Kiev to get 250+ bombers to fly for bombing runs.

Ok, here I get totally carried away with a single CAV unit. I start converting hexes and go deep. Without paying attention I went TOO deep with one of them. I contemplated about putting a few other CAV units to support the one idiot CAV division that went to deep. I decide to just let the lone wolf die on his own. I have to pay better attention.

Odessa still will be held this turn.

I start preparing the defenses of Moscow. I will continue to build forts here and at Leningrad which all have proved to be invaluable during the game.

Finland is a ghost land of Soviet units. I build the fort line and set TOE to 100%. Why 100%? Because if the rail to this area gets cut need to be able to survive the mud attrition factor. At 20% the degradation would be too great.

I reclaim some territory with the CAV. Anytime playing Germany you should put a unit on the coast so if. Soviet player does cut you off you will get beach supply. It is really nasty if you put a PZ division on a coast hex and the Soviets cut you off. It is like Merry Xmas MP's.

30th Army commanded by Khomenko is just totally blown away. 80% of the units are routed. The other Army in the Reserve front did not fair much better. Only Zhukovs 3rd line was able to have any viable effect of extra loses but they too retreated or routed.

To be honest I feared a constant "hasty" attack by the Germans more than getting surrounded. Not only did I lose a constant steam of men the double effects of Morale loss was DRASTIC!!! Many divisions would be put back into the line with 25 or 26 Morale which just fanned the flames of more loses. Soviets really have no choice but to put them back in the line since every unit is a small piece of gold of ZoC and MP inhibitor. The constant drain of men from these attacks forced me to take drastic measures on my TOE of divisions.
