Here's what's happening in the middle right now. The Axis forces are surrounding and destroying my defenders and surging south. There are battles going on at the river crossings and I've only just now placed garrisons at the crossings of the Dneper as it leaves Kiev and flows south. The Rumanians are pressing east and are pushing my units slowly backward and it looks like I'm not going to be able to stop their advance either. They will be entering the Crimea in about 15 turns or so. I'd best start building MLR's where they are needed.

A lot of my reinforcements are appearing in Chelyabinsk and I'm moving them to their own hex if they are one of the three pieces that appear from time to time. As the other pieces appear I move them to that hex and then recombine them when it's possible and then next turn move it to Moscow. I'm going to start building an MLR near Moscow with them just in case.

Down south my Stalin's Line is discentagrating under the constant pressure of the Axis units. My units are too slow to get away and they are being surrounded and destroyed. There's no stopping the Axis units.
I'm beginning to think that the idea to defend forward might not have been my best idea.

This is what's happening up north. There's lots of Axis units that aren't visible in this image. I'm still railing units to this AO and rushing them toward the river because we're still fighting over several crossings but Patrick has gotten across the river, is headed north, and will soon blast a hole in my lines and will be released from my cordon. I'd best get an MLR started at Pskov. Another one near Narva and maybe another at Smolensk. Kiev is already fortified and I hold all the crossings south of Kiev so I'm almost as ready as I can be.

Thanks Jack. We're at the part of the game where I'm getting reinforcements by the boat-load and I'm hoping to use them to build some fairly good MLR's somewhere between Smolensk and Moscow contingent upon where the good rivers are. The air war is hot and I'm losing planes left and right. I'm moved all the older biplanes to the Odessa area for all the good they will do down there. Last I looked at the aircraft losses meter it was 85 Axis losses for 208 Soviet losses. Speaking of losses I need to post something about the losses. Most of the losses are down south where the Stalin Line is disentegrating, surrounded by Axis units, slowly melting away. Patrick is good. Really good.

The Axis units are creaping closer to Pskov and the next defensive position near the river. I'm not finished stopping up the crossings and I'm afraid Patrick is going to bypass my defenses and go around them. I expect to be outflanked and surrounded. I've been busting bridges and I've brought the fighters forward and ensured that the entire front lines are covered by at least one CS mission just in case there's a strike a two. I'm going to start building an MLR near Moscow. And not a moment too soon.

Here's the Odessa right now. There's lots of small groups fighting their individual battles and the Axis units are making their way south toward the port and they are getting across the river and will soon be in the entrance to the Crimea. I'm hoping to be able to hold them back for a little while at each of the crossings but I'm not optimistic.

Your map graphics are incorrect.

Larry's because he's using a map mod that does not include the scenario's modified map graphics.

cpt flam because the last patch screws up where the game looks for things. In other words it's bugged. The shot on the left is the bugged game scenario graphics. The shot on the right is the correct scenario graphics. See the difference?

To correct this you have to manually copy the entire FitE2 folder from the install Graphics Override folder and put it in the Documents/My Games/The Operational Art of War IV/Graphics Override folder.






BTW, the screen shot on the left is directly from a cpt flam post in this thread. I've tried to tell the powers that be that things are messed up but evidently they think I'm full of crap. That is likely true. [:D] But I'm not wrong about this. [;)]
