My guess is it will be, as I bet Andy beefed up the engineers at all the bases. Miri certainly was heavily defended compared to stock game.

Perhaps rng will smile on me a little bit. Hong Kong fell without a point of damage...but it seemed to not have a larger garrison either.

so if the enemy have engineers there is a chance to get industry destroyed; and more engineers, more chances?

I feel that my advance is horrendously slow, at least very slow compared to a pbem game.

We try to catch Archimedes or Task Force Z at Kuantan, but they have left and are now adjacent to Singers and their 115 fighters.

We catch elements of the thundering herd head east...a surprising direction but easily spotted.

Battleship Division 1 is on approach to Manado, and they shrug off six bomb hits from strafing Beaufighters.

That is the theory. A lot of times it seems mostly random, or at least I remember those more clearly.[:D]

I also think that a shock attack makes it worse. It also depends upon the total strength of the defense, at least what I have seen in China by grinding away the infantry with armour at a base, then evicting the highly trashed units.

Very interesting and challenging. The AI still does a few headscratching things, though, like keeping airplanes at a base empty of ground troops.

Can you post a screenie of the Archimedes from the database (or your best guess as to what class it is)? That has me curious.

Potential carrier clash....If there are two enemy fleet carriers here it could go very badly.

Need to get Manado operational, and from there we will probably look at taking Jolo, Tarakan to surrond the Phillipines with decent ground based air threats (and search). Will steer clear of Ambon for now, and of course getting to Balikpapan safely is a high priority.

It was the SS Thor (?) which nailed the destroyer riding herd on the Carrier Division 1....her counterflooding is bad, but system damage only medium. If she can avoid another sub, she might make it back to Vietnam.

I don't want to lose Kagero class destroyers.[:(]
