Turn 12 (Execution Phase (this is execution of phase 11 planning by both the German and Allies)
Execution Phase
June 9 12pm Afternoon turn
Carentan Area
Americans do two moving attacks at Insigny and the hex SW of Insigny. Both Hold. Some bombardments from both sides but nothing major. Yes, I am still kicking my but from earlier turn allowing the Americans across that darn bridge.
My Bridging unit destroys the bridge to the NE in this hex marked with white box.

My plan to get the heck out of dodge after realizing about the experience difference. Lets just say my plans don't go exactly as I want them to... We will find out next turn for sure

Turn 12 (Execution Phase (this is execution of phase 11 planning by both the German and Allies)
Planning Phase
June 9 12pm Afternoon turn
Caen and Bayeux Area
Most of the Blue and Green Arrows is the Panzer Lehr repositioning to the West of Bayeux and NE of St Lo. Since the British are content building up supplies I move them west. Not to mention that the Americans fix the darn bridge in the white box. I attempt to DEMO it again and have to rush a PZ Lehr AA battlion to the location. I set up another bridge blowing in the yellow box to ensure I funnel any breakthrough to a few hexes.

Turn 12 (Execution Phase (this is execution of phase 11 planning by both the German and Allies)
Planning Phase
June 9 12pm Afternoon turn
Carentan Area
77th Inf Division remaining units are finding their way to the North of St Lo.
KG265 remaining units are going to help the 91st Inf Division in between Insigny and Carentan
In the white box you have German units performing the Lederhosen dance. Have no idea what that means but see if it works.

Of note is the Bridge Demo unit finally moves into Carentan to try and blow all three bridges. These bridge blowing units are one of the most valuable pieces on the map for Germany. Being able to funnel allied attacks in key places and conserving units.

My defense in Insigny has exactly 666 men left... Omen or no???? Time will tell. I move the 352nd HQ so the unit won't be on extended support

Victory points I have a slight edge at the moment.
Dreading opening the next turn. BUT I have hope since Timian hasn't attacked at night but one time, maybe he will do the same this time and give me a breather at Caboug

We will see...

Insigny holds on barely with just 20 men left in the battalion(yellow arrow). They did their job many turns over.
My conscript unit held on forever against the american onslaught (pink arrow). But they were finally eliminated
Other than that it is pretty quiet this part of the map too

Wellllllllll...... The lederhosen dance didn't work. Ever single unit I wanted in front of the pontoon bridge failed to dance

. I have seen it happen before but not with all of the units. So must have been the bombardment holding them up
Carentan fell on the 14th of June in real life so let me see if I can at least hold on to it until then

Well DAMN! The 709th Inf Div went to Extended Support (out of range of higher HQ (Yellow dot on right side of counter) but still able to draw supplies but has some penalties). Thanks for me being a noob I know next time when mud hits that the higher HQ needs to be closer or switch to a different higher HQ if able. Lesson learned
Stupid 1:2.3 odds too make all 6 defenders retreat. Horse crap lucky for him with the German failed hold at all cost

. (second snapshot)
Noticing a pattern that the Allies hardly ever lose any tanks in this game

. Now in my other game it is a big difference in losses compared to this game. Guess Timian is keeping his readiness high and hitting secondly with tanks to hit an already a down and out German unit.

Turn 13 (Execution Phase (this is execution of phase 12 planning by both the German and Allies)
Planning Phase
June 9 18pm Night turn
Cabourg
Well this is what I passed off as a defence for the coming turn. It is a POS defence and I don't mean "Point of Sale". The previous turn I realized that the Green 711 Inf Div just was not going to cut it here. I started the 346th Inf Div to the rescue. But the next turn I knew I needed bigger "pipe hitters" with some shock values because there are open terrain up here and I will get eaten alive. So I had to put up the BAT signal
Also notice that DEMO of bridges been happening at the end ot the execution phase. Now I am not 100% certain this is the case but that is what I have noticed so far. Can see in the snapshot I am trying to DEMO both bridge (spoiler alert - I fail)
Those 711 Inf Battalions behind the line with a red dot in the top left of the icon is their readiness number. they are all below 20% and these guys auto surrender when Readiness and str get below a threshold and one number is below but the other is not. So trying to protect these guys to let them recover. BUT it will take them like 15-20 turns to get back to 100% since one of them is at zero (0)
I started rushing 346th Inf Battlions north to the rescue (NOT! They become victims too!!!)

Planning Phase
June 9 18pm Night turn
Cabourg & Caen
My planned moves for the coming turns execution.
*346th blue lines to Cabourg area
* Green lines are for the 21st PZ DiV coming online for an attack in the yellow box area. Will need to hit the hex a few turns in a row, but we will see. I had "attack tunnel syndrome". Meaning I wasn't thinking about the whole picture to the NE around Cabourg but just to roll the dice on an attack. Darn tunnel vision doing me in! (I am always a day late and a $1.00 short)

17th SS & other reenforcements arrive
I am taking 17th SS to Caen Area. On the far right I have a tank Battlion of the PZ Lehr DZ and on the far left a parachute battalion which also is going to Caen area.
I reposition some of the flak BN's and companies to key areas. (Allies get aircraft that bomb ;-P Who would have thought!)

Turn 13 (Execution Phase (this is execution of phase 12 planning by both the German and Allies)
Planning Phase
June 9 18pm Night turn
Bayeux and St Lo area
* Yellow box I am trying to DEMO the bridge again. The more I keep him on the other side of the river the better off I am since I have a lack of units still to cover every hex across the map. German reenforcements are so scarce coming in haphazardly and pretty much only at night time
* White box I plan to move the Bridging unit here to blow the bridge. Not the best place but only one can make to without wasting time.
* Pink box are the Flak battalions (already moved on this view. Can press the "D" button and will show either the beginning hex or ending hex of the proposed move. Love the feature)
* Light Blue box is the 12th SS recon battlion getting back to the Division. (consolidating the 12ss) Early game I had divisions spread out all over the map. BUT you have to watch out for unit cohesion in the same hex with other units from other commands. Have units from different commands and your units in the hex could be fighting at 50%. Where if you just defended with one single battalion you will be fighting at 100%. Be careful what you put in a hex.
Again this is a night turn so I try and limit to units that are "necessary" to move.

Carentan
This time I am just going to do the shuffle in the area to get units in front of that pontoon bridge. Been trying for the whole day but failed rolls and American Bombardment.
* Light blue box I order the DEMO of all three bridges. Would be a BIG bonus to have all three of these blown
* I finally order my Heros to retreat that held off American attacks for days. The Battlion has only 21 men in it but I want to try and save the counter to give it some replacements. I can only hope it makes it but with 3 American Regts next to him I believe the fate is grim

But we shall try
