I got confused reading your reply so went back to the original offensive post for guidence......once again becoming vexed and needing to stick my Kerry doll...........still lacking pins i have settled on using tiny strips of maskingtape.[&:]

The most disturbing thing is now my kerry doll looks like Lon Chaney as the mummy.Now this has brought back all kinds of boyhood memories of fright and i'm now afraid of my kerry voodoo doll.
All this would not have come to pass had the 1.3 patch comeout............its a vast leftwing conspiracy! I must now consult the oracle of foxnews for guidence...............[&o]

A friend of Germany sent me the following link:

Apparently, the Guardian (an English paper) thought it would be a good idea if they provided the mailing addresses of unaffiliated voters in Clark County, Ohio, to its readership so the readership could send letters trying to persuade them on how to vote. Since the Guardian is a liberal paper, I assume the intent was to swing the vote to Kerry. Supposedly, over 11,000 Britons responded and requested addresses. This web page provides a sample of the responses from the U.S. It's pretty funny, and many of the responses are typical of what I would have expected. This is legit; there is a link at the bottom of the page to the original article in the Guardian requesting people to write in for addresses.
What was the Guardian staff thinking? Or were they?
Actually, the American election is very big news overseas. While at the Guardian, I cruised around, and they are keeping track of which European papers are endorsing who, and who various Arab ambassadors hope wins. Oddly, the frontpage today indicates that das Bild, a German paper, actually endorses Bush. Who woulda thunk? But there is a whole 'nuther world out there that is just as interested in this election as America is, but we don't seem to realize it.

You're right. The whole world is interested in our elections, and want to shape the outcome. What they, and some Democrats, fail to realize is they can be interested in it all they want, but it is our call. The British can write all they want, the French can whine all they want, and the Swiss can denounce some of us as Brain-washed. But in the end, it will be Americans, not the world, who will determine wo will be the next President.

Don't know how things are now, but through at least the seventies there wasn't much focus on orthodontics. While every kid in the U.S. had braces to have lovely straight teeth, the Brits just lived with however the teeth came in - probably because of the awful socialized healthcare system. So you had some pretty bad looking choppers.

How many hours does the average all-american voter spend in front of his/her TV? How big was the swing in polls after vietnam veterans started picking on Kerry in sponsored ads? The effect can be measured, and it was in a two digit range, no?

That's what compelled me to use the term brainwashing. On a bright summer day Kerry leads with comfortable 55%, then some vets are shown, looking like they had a rough time after coming home - don't turn this one as ill will on my side, I have high respect of anyone who had to serve over there! - presenting arguments that sounded dictated as hell, and 2 weeks later Kerry is down to about 42%. Not sure on the exact figures as I hoped it to be corrected quickly as soon as the Kerry team reacted, but Kerry took a drop of over 10%, and still has not recovered fully from that one.... So much to limited influence of donated campaign money......

I don't know foranger......how about getting the french and germans to tell us all about being bought? They tookin how many $billion with the "oil for food scam"? Hmmn,lets see they sold their U.N influence to Iraq and more or less made certain the U.s would be involved in a war in Iraq.And by the way,how about those arms shipments from the french violating U.N sanctions and potentially causing the death or injury of U.S servicemen? Especially the ones who want the US to ask permission from the UN to defend itself. The ones who denounce the war because we didn't find WMD (and they disregard that we found the capability to make WMD), but made us doddle 14 months, giving France and Germany's ol' buddy Saddam time to stash his WMD.
Why should the US be expected to take the UN seriously, when the people running the UN see it as just a way to make a few bucks and screw over America?
Because of corruption and impotence, the UN is about as effective right now as the League of Nations was. Remember them, the guys that turned a blind eye to Hitler and Mussolini. America was smart enough not to pay any attention to the League, for the very same reasons why the UN is becoming just as bad. The UN can't stop famine, it can't stop war, it can't stop scandals, and it couldn't even stop Saddam from thumbing his nose at them. And with the Oil for food scandal, now it is just a joke.
