I'm sure he is thinking about it as much as you are. It's a pain to have to wait, though.

Very nice AAR Cap & Gown! [8D]
I like the way you use different colours to mark head lines etc.
Brown's map is a delight for the eye and you've also made very nice illustrations!

I've not read through it all yet, but I found the page describing your Sword and Shield plans.

From what I've experienced so far in 1943 I've learned the following:

1.) LBA will be able to force and advance from the Gilberts and to the Marshalls. It will be very
difficult and dangerous to seriously attack an invasion if it is supported by large number of LBA.
This is clearly the approach I would choose as an Allied player.

2.) Japan can build up a very powerful strategic reserve both on the ground and in the air and make it difficult even for the entire
US carrier fleet to force a landing. Naval losses cannot be made good though. So I think it's important to save
as many ships as possible for one grand show down - in the Marianas. If you fight too many battles throughout the
Solomons, Gilberts and Marshalls ship losses will to a large extent weaken the Imperial Navy while the Allies receive more
and better ships every day.

Imagine sending 20 carriers with a 1000 ac, 12 battleships, 30 cruisers and 60 destroyers to intercept an American landing at Saipan!! It would be THE
battle of the game and truly decisive encounter.

What do you think about the numbers I've provided for the defense of the Marianas? I also find Ulithi very usefull as a staging base for the fleet and reinforcements.
The fall of Truk and Northern New Guinea may open the road to the Palaus though - and then the Marianas can be subdued. So perhaps the Palaus and Marianas should
be made part of a mutually supporting defense plan? It should be easy to shuffle air and ground units between these islands. It will of course be essential to have 250 air
support in all the bases.

Davao also seems like a good place to keep the Combined Fleet - Ulithi may be a target for a massive US carrier hit and run mission.
