Your theory is that for them to be classed as genuine WW2 aircraft means they have to have been built between 39-45, every part on them has to be the original part, the nuts and bolts have to be the originals? [:D] If so I wonder how many of them have been in any film.....
They can't have the chassis of a WW2 aircraft and have been modded to be classed as genuine WW2 aircraft in a film?
Regards,
Steven
Erm, you're kidding, right Speed?

You didn't even mention the best part. Ben Afleck (a fighter pilot on 12/7/41) becomes one of Doolittle's B-25 pilots and bombs Tokyo. I had so much expectations from that movie. It blew more chunks than any other war movie I've seen.
Again, Pearl Harbor was NOT A WAR MOVIE. That would be the same as calling Gone with the Wind a war movie.

True, but it was marketed as a war movie. Now, if they stuck with the original title of "Tennessee", I would be forgiving, but the whole marketing ploy was that it was a war movie, the next Tora Tora Tora.
Though, on a humerous note, Saddam Hussein called it "The Feel Good movie of 2001".

Okay, must only have been in the States. When they started marketing it over here, there was never any doubt in my mind that this wasn't a war film. At least that I can remember; many a moon ago now...

Trying to think what it was like over here in the UK. I think it was mainly targetted as a LOVE story but with the name PH I ascribed it other things. I unfortunately dragged a mate along to see it..............

Yeah, over here there is a fine line between fallacy and marketing. Anybody could tell it wasnt a war movie, but they tried to present it as one.

No idea, though probably quite a few more than if the film had been made today, and more Spitfires and Hurricanes than any of the German types.

Not sure about the Spanish 109s and He-111s, but there were 27 Spitfires and 5 Hurricanes (with three flyable). Also a B-25 was used as a camera plane. This from imdb.com.

And Airborne
Actually, no. Rangers in WWII werent airborne qualified.

Let him who desires peace prepare for war
Vegetatus
Isn't that like saying "let him who doesn't want to play football prepare for the kickoff?"

More like If you don't want to die when your house burns down, be prepared for it when it does.
Forward thinking and preparation are the best ways to prevent bad things from happening.

I would have thought the best way not to die from your house burning down would be to avoid playing with matches.
