Well, then 1-2 Night groups could arrive independently of the carriers, and replaced manually, giving original Air groups Rest.
As is my knowlidge Big E, Independence and maybe one more carrier was designated for night ops.
Not going to happen.

Shouldn't be that hard to mod after release, if someone wishes so, I think.

a quick air thread question.... has the scale issue of plane tops been 'fixed'? ie. will a B29 still look the same size as a Zero? Or will they be to scale now? I noticed in the pics of the ships they are much closer to scale than in the original, i'm hoping AC have had the same treatment.

It's better, but we had to strike a balance between scaling and visibility. You do actually want to be able to see the fighters, right?

Thanks for the very quick answer T. I expected some compromise, but an improvement is appreciated.
By the way, do you ever SLEEP??!!

I was just looking through the latest AAR (YH vs TS) and found myself being reminded of the GLEN which in stock is a much better strategic intelligence asset than Allied SIGINT. Have the capabilities of that magnificent 120 mph search plane (when it can go that fast=terminal velocity with the wings ripped off) been toned down any?

Quite a lot more than "a couple". It's in with both Canadian and RAF versions.

Just wondering. IF AE is going to take servicability into account, how bad are B-29's. From what I have read recently, there were very difficult to keep in the air. These problems were at their worst during the first few months of use but never were completely resolved during the war. The superchargers were a major problem on this aircraft.

Pretty difficult to keep them flying, IIRC...

Excellent!!
What about the Sea Mosquito (TR.33 & TR.37)? I know it would be late 45 at earliest, probably early 46. But the idea of a heavily armed, radar equipped, carrier based fighter with a torpedo is somewhat appealing!!
And also.... any later model Firefly's (ie. the Griffon powered Firefly Mk.IV)? The first of the truely effective Firefly models...
And on the other side.... Japan used the Italian Fiat B.R.20 Cigona in China (they ordered 85 i think in the late 1930's). Not sure how many were left by Dec 7 '41, but probably a few??
Finally, China used the Fiat C.R.32 biplane fighters against the Japs. Did they make the cut??
Thanks again.

Gentlemen,
I am sure it was discussed, but a search came up blank. Any tweaks to the operational readiness rates of aircraft and crew fatigue in AE?

Forgive me if this has been asked before.....
I understand that aircraft are going to have different ratings for different altitudes in AE, but what will determine at what5 altitude the combat takes place: the height of the escort/CAP/sweep? Will it be whichever side does not get the bounce (on the basis that if your opponent hasn't seen you, then to attack you need to alter to his altitude)? Also once combat has started will altitudes change as planes dive/climb and are pursued?
Thanks

i realy hope that we will not see things like that in AE:
Day Air attack on TF at 69,36
Japanese aircraft
A7M1 Reppu x 190
D4Y Judy x 73
B6N Jill x 187
Allied aircraft
F6F Hellcat x 69
F4U-1 Corsair x 314
Japanese aircraft losses
A7M1 Reppu: 190 destroyed
D4Y Judy: 54 destroyed
B6N Jill: 171 destroyed
Allied aircraft losses
F6F Hellcat: 5 destroyed, 2 damaged
F4U-1 Corsair: 47 destroyed, 14 damaged
the japanese totaly surprised the allied carrier TFs (they even did not spott my carriers and started not a single attack) with crack IJN pilots with above 70 XP but the stuppid uber-CAP of stocks ruined all the planing.
elimination of uber-CAP and no more air combat XP gain by attacking undefended bases with fighters would be the main reason for me to buy AE.

Well the result is too bloody but you have "only" 190 fighters vs almost 400 for Allies. 2 Vs 1 advantage for defender. With Early Warning Radar you will never win that one.
