we tried to dislodge the enemy Army group that was coming North to break into the pocket at Poona but despite a 2.5:1 advantage in assault value we clearly fail in the attack... one tank rgt was nearly whiped out, lost all tanks and is now nothing more than motorized support... no chance for the enemy to relieve the trapped units at Poona though and during the day the enemy units were reported running South towards Goa... more divisions are enroute to Poona and the units here will go there too now to take on the Allied units there... goal is the total destruction of the enemy units at Poona which should more or less end any Allied offense in Western India for the coming months...

after taking Roi-Namur yesterday the enemy also takes Kwajalein today, all Japanese defenders were whiped out... the force at Kwajalein had more potential to hurt an attacker but Roi-Namur's defenders caused way more casualties... I do consider the defense of Kwajalein also a success though as we caused more casualties to the attacker than we suffered... the result at Roi-Namur was pretty much fantastic...
with these two atolls in the Marshalls lost the whole island chain is in trouble now...
