Heh ... I feel your pain Comrade Red Mouse. Just started to pack my cartons ... [:'(]
Luckily for me, it's a short hop within the city.

Perhaps you'd like to join me next July when I get to move to a "mystery destination"? [:D] Maybe St. Louis, maybe Jacksonville, maybe "who-the-hell-knows?". [8|] But I'd be delighted to share the "joy" of the "moving experience" with you. Sometimes I wish U-haul has chosen a different motto then "Adventures in Moving" . How about "a really easy job with no drama"? It's not catch, but it would be very welcome! [:D]
Also, Bismarck was the best battleship of all time.
Until she was scuttled.

That would be most unlikely , but preferrable to SOME places the Government has sent me. [:D]

Well, I hope that you can send me back the turn before you have to pack up, Steve. [:'(]
Unless Sweden decides to purchase Guam, or opens a base in , oh say Japan, you probably won't need to worry about such a posting. On the other hand , at almost every embassy you DO have defense attaches. Isn't most of the billets within your paygrade? [:D]ORIGINAL: Grollub
After reading/hearing about Steves moving activities I'm quite happy that Sweden is such a small country. I could barely squeeze in a 1000 mile move if I tried really hard to make it happen [:'(]

Pratt, KS is a wonderful spot.
Purchasing Guam sounds like a good idea and a lot warmer as well. Thanks for the tip [:D]ORIGINAL: AW1Steve

The defense attache posts could very well have been within my reach, if it wasn't for the fact that I've found my "cozy spot" at the defense college and thus feel no need to do such a career move [:'(]

What? You've no desire to summer in Washington DC/ (Shudder) or be the defense attache to "East Ubanga"? [:D]

Er no CB, that would be the rather beautiful old lady in my sig line - fact [&o][&o][:)][8D] and I'm not even biased....
Until she was scuttled.
[:D]
I think you will find though that she was not scuttled at all. HMS Rodney and HMS KGV spent 24 hours trying to inflict damage on the German wonder ship - without success. Meanwhile, Rafe McCauley, who was en vacances in Ireland, recovering from the Doolittle Raid (during which he personally laid waste to Tokyo) got wind of the naval contretemps and hired a fishing boat which he loaded with some spare torpedoes he found lying around.
To save the RN from further ignominy and defeat, he sailed single handed (with only Kate Beckinsale and Matt Damon for company) in the fishing boat to the battle zone. Once there he immediately launched said torpedoes and sunk the pride of the Kriegsmarine. The British claimed the credit, and in the name of Allied togetherness, Rafe kept Schtum.
Only now, thanks to Michael Bay, can the true story be told. Coming to a cinema near you soon "Sink the Bismarck? F^&* Yeah".

Before starting my last AE game, I had thoughts on modding the pilot roster adding the pilot "Rafe McCauley". He would then have spent MY entire war flying a Stearman out of Nome, Alaska. [;)]

It might have been more entertaining to have him flying a P-26 in the PI on the opening morning.[:D]
