In 2003 Spain ordred 24 Tiger HAD, to be locally assembled. In the waiting, from 2007 they received 6 HAP (which are supposed to be upgraded to HAD by 2017).
Batallón de Helicópteros de Ataque Nº 1 became operational in 2012 and have been subsequently deployed in Afghanistan.
