thanks Pauk
our ancestors look at our wars and nod with satisfaction
1,5k+ army points
easy to count
239k/10/12 = circa 2k points
but I don't care about points / there is still slightly below 4:1 for me /
i lost at least 3-4 months there and another 3-4 when i first encountered off base resistance bug
so this victory is bitter
i could have more troops in south DEI now for example
i need to eliminte off base troops - circa 150k in 2 places - it will take 2-3 months as well as regaining strenght after last assault so after i eliminate all chinase armed forces i will feel free to use china army outside of china
all borrowed troops from other theaters are on the move - 350 elite 80+exp helens relocate to DEI
I bet soon there will be no enemy subs there
India is interesting option as well as russia - only 4e bases close to HI stops me from creating a battle plan [8D]
all my pools grow nicely
i'm close to 4 mil supplies
i shut down many airframes factories / i have 1000+ of tonies and tojos and over 700 jacks - betties are still produced in mark 2 model as I expect heavy losses at timor/ as well as armament/230k/ and vehicles /15k/- pools are big enough and now i have 5k surplus HI / day and no drain in oil and resources stored.
in last days over 500k of war materials reached HI despite of enemy sub efforts / no ship was hit/
merchant losses are still close to 35-40 for whole war
i have plenty of ships which production was halted within 10 days so i can have them at any moment
naval industy came back to subs production as there is little else to produce
modern PCs are accelerated as soon as it is possible as it is very nice weapon against allied subs
basicly the only not growing position is fuel
i have 250k+ depots in major areas and fuel train with 300+ fuel behind my fleet
but operation eats a lot - it was one of reasons i did not go offensively in last 3-4 months / beside obvious fact there was little to hunt and my glens are 0-sized so no search behind lines /
durig last few month my tankers were busy moving fuel not oil

R&D is looking nice - i decided to further build up most important planes

Congrats. Patience paid off as I said earlier.
It would be intresting to see you guys battle it out in Russia.

me too [8D]
slightly too late but it is still tempting - that's why pity land combat doesn't work well
china must be cleared first and off base units may be invincible in this engine
i'm short off fighters units to cover next front and pools for russia is massive
without air parity i will have no chance
second i need to see result of dei campaign
and if Raverdave take any foothold i will need them all
7-8 months earlier it would be an option

8/17/43
afternoon shock attack - i hoped not to miscalculate as my troops were far from max strenght but without 2 forts lost last time chungking proved weak
830ktroops 7.5k guns and 1150 vehicles assaulted
AV - 15.2k modified 9.8k / after shock x2 modifier - looks like we will never get known of 30% modifier's reason
enemy had adjusted 2.6k
3:1 at 1 fort and 239k enemy troops surrended
own losses 83k troops 700 guns
A spectacular achievement! Past the half-way point in 1943 and the Japanese Empire is still the dominant force!

keep this faith capt. Harlock !
major engagement ahead of Empire
morale should be higher after chungking
I'm quite interested in how Raverdave wants to play this invasion
as it is 1st such action in game i should get valuable info for future
he withdrew from Wake invasion 6 months ago.
now he feels more confident
we will see
good thing is that Raverdave has no idea about location of my assets and some of them can be surprise for him

Congrats to you success in Chungking. Good for your game. Maybe even for Raverdave. It caused too much bitterness in this interesting duel..
You still have to pay PPs to load your LCUs on ships, but those who suffered the most will be cheaper before they regain their strenght again.. There is always a bright side [;)]
I really like to follow your game. Good fight from both of you!!!

8/19/43
air and naval bombardment of Lautem - CL Raleigh run on mine
quite a lot of transports in allied perimeter bases on Pacific
enemy carrier force moves slightly west
waiting ....
short break

it is incredibble -Raverdave forgot about my turn today
too much sun in Oz I think
I always knew it is unnatural to live in such hot places
there will be short break soon for a few days - however there is a chance i will use internet cafe so Maybe Raverdave will post sth here
Raverdave dances around timor
he did not probe it seriously so he doesn't know where is control in force and where is its illusion
running with offensive in 42 without sniffing all things about target and area is good as surprise counts but in 43 I'm a little bit dissapointed by what I see
looks like the only important thing was abundancy of LBA - " big hammer tactics "
good luck to all generals and admirals for next few days
I'm off

gentlemans we have a problem
we had another loops problem and had to go back 2 full turns so we redo 17th
results
not 3 but 8 DDs sunk and my shock attack at chungking was not successfull
as always massacre of japan but chinase are still there
i refuse to be penalized once again by loop
especially at this moment when i have full scale offensive at my gates
i don't have idea what to do
i asked Dave to send "faulty" files to dev before i left for holidays
i don't want to know where my blood preassure is
i knew sooner or later this bug will hit critiacal turn
i did sent it to michelm we will see what happens

NO reading! [:-] You need to start that 2nd PBEM! [:D][:D]
This PBEM is having some tough luck with bugs. Seems to me you guys pretty much have encountered every possible one!

it is not bad thing to have a rest as I'm thinking seriously about my job and to some extent I'm looking after sth new
i'm balancing over idea to say bye my current employer
however i think we will see next PBEM from OZ sooner - see opponent thread with Honda looks like Raverdave volunteered
it may be very interesting game to follow in AAR[;)]
my next PBEM ...?
i target RHS EOS and i think about taking allied side this time
starting as japan once more is slightly too much for me and i feel RHS has many important things solved and it is basicly new game with most of old ideas not working
at this moment i don't know how much free time i will have if i change job - maybe more but rather less so options are not wide
let's have a hope in Michelm and his debugging abilities
i want to see this game in 45
even if seeing PZBs game shows that it will be widely difficult

I noticed that Raver is propably going head to head againts Honda. Should be intresting.
I starting a new job too next month so I do understand what you are saying. I would love to try the Japanese side on PBEM but time restrictions wohn't allow it at the moment. It takes quite a lot of time to setup allied troops at the beginning but once these turns are done than the flow is much quicker.
Having said that 2 new CHS games ahead (one started and one about to start within month or two) so nomore new games for me. Add those 2 stock PBEM's already there which I would love to finish than my schedule is booked for good.

good news we are on the move again
enemy convoys all over my perimeter
maybe Raverdave wants me to show KB [8|]
it is hidden well - in place which gives me few options
yesterday allied SS sunk for MSW and PC
today heavily damaged APD heading to singapore sunk in exchange of another sub hit by 2 bombs
sub warfare is tough in south dei but i do not see losses in my merchant shipping till now
British and US heavy cruisers spotted and recognized
presence of BB/CV also noted at derby/wyndham
few chinase units surrendered in smaller of two remaining resistance points

That is excellent news indeed! Lets just hope that nomore bugs are found on this one [8|]
