Overall, it really isn't true as you correctly point out, as you can advance without air supremacy -- especially as the Allies with all their wonderful AA guns and Japan's lack of heavy bombers. Just pick your targets carefully...plus at sea the balance is tipping solidly to the Allies.

Mr. Kane has also demonstrated he has a masterful control of the Japanese side in his game against Jocke. I imagine he knows fully well where he does and does not have potential to advance.

When you post your oil/fuel/supply change numbers are those empire wide or just the Home Islands?

They are the difference of the values from the Tracker picture. This is empire wide but I'm not sure exactly what it counts in terms of supply in units, fuel in ships, and cargo in transit. However, it is consistent for tracing purposes.

Fuel/Oil flow to the Home Islands is good with no surplus other than as waits for tankers. I have an excess of tanker capacity at the moment and the less efficient tankers are idle or used to send fuel to Rabaul, Truk etc. I am tending to spend a few turns loading and send typical tanker task force of about 10 tankers and 8 escorts at a time.

The last oil well at Urumchi is fixed (could have done this earlier if I had understood how to get supply there).

Movement arrows at Ledo, some heading into the Jungle some heading out along the rail line.

Recce shows Chinese colours at Dimapur, so he has something available to use all those Chinese replacements.

Strange message flashed up during the replay.

It was during the upgrade aircraft stage and was something about a CVE being overloaded. I suspect it was meant for the Allied player and was caused by him upgrading planes on a CVE from something carrier capable to something not carrier capable. I suppose it is a minor buglet that I saw this.

Oil flows out fine. Resources who cares, there are enough anyway. Fuel I can't get to flow more than a little.

To get supply there I increased supply demand at Lanchow by 2000, set Urumchi to stockpile, set Urumchi to a demand of 5000 or so. Then I monitored the turns and on the turn before supply does a long flow I removed the supply demand at Lanchow. I could tell these turns easily by looking at the resource flows from Urumchi in tracker and seeing the pattern. Most times enough supply would flow to Urumchi to repair one oil well.

All the divisions that are making up the Manchuko garrison have formed a defensive line in the woods behind rivers and have split into thirds. They are digging in. I hope that by 1945 they will have forts 5 or 6. I've started supplementing them with some artillery digging in as well. Also am developing key bases.

I try sweeps over Kalemyo. No defense rises to meet my planes and I take 5 ops losses for no gain.

I bomb the Chinese force to see what it is, something called "X" Force.

BB Mutsu finishes repairs after the sub-launched torpedo she took in March. However, will stay in the Home Isles as gets a radar fitted next month.

How can you get resources, fuel to flow out?

When I increased a little the rafineries in Lanchow, they drained successfully oil from Urumchi!
The fuel produced then went to the coast!

Seems this is only an HQ that arrives at Delhi. So it still looks like no Chinese infantry units have escaped from China.

I have put recce over all the Allied bases in the Solomons. It looks like there are no bombers at any of them. Just fighters at the forward three and some auxiliaries and fighters at Munda.

I may try and see if I can bombard Buin and get some Corsairs and Lightnings on the ground. Worried by the risk of Allied mines. However, with no bombers around any damaged ships will have a good chance of making it back to Rabaul.

If I do this I think the plan would be (in task force number order):
1. Send a minesweeping force of 2 DMS to Torokina to try and sweep any mines there, only 6 guns reported so little risk from CD guns.
2. Send 2 CA SCTF to Buin to try and clear PT boats and surface forces
3. Send 3 BB bombardment task forces to hit Buin

With no bombers around you might want to do a daylight run for max effect.
