I tried it and the game won't let me rebase the fighter (the screen shot doesn't show the white 'X' but you can see from the '2 Spitfires' that I am attempting to do this) - but I think this is correct and was always my understanding of the game.

I am using 2.7.1. I will try it now with the other land moves (just in case something has weird has affected the rebase and erroneously allowed you to do this). Are you able to do a 'Save As' and then cycle through? i.e. see if the Spitfire is then destroyed which should be the consequence of any such movement even if allowed.

A major power or minor country unit that ends any step in the home country of a friendly major power it doesn’t co-operate with is destroyed unless:

- It started the step there; or
- It started the step elsewhere and the unit satisfies the foreign troop commitment limit.


EDIT: Yes, just tried it again with all the land moves but the program still won't let me do this. I don't know why your version will [&:]

But the point is, even if it allows you to do it, the program should then destroy the Spitfire (or maybe one of the 2 Militia so that the FTC is satisfied at the end of the phase). If it doesn't then that is a bigger issue than allowing you to do it in the first place.

I will later try how many units I can get to France. Maybe it has something to do with it that Wavell was moved to France and then returned to Belgium using undo.

That is one to unit to many in France and is a bug. Most likely an effect of undoing the HQA move.

Note that having to many units in France is not forbidden so extra units should not be destroyed. What is forbidden is entering with that unit. So it has always been ok to enter with the HQ and then other units up to the HQ value. In a later step the HQ can move out and the remaining units are allowed to stay.

So I think we should enforce the rule manually and report it in a tech thread.

You didn't mention an HQ undo [;)]. However, that said, I've just tried it and it still doesn't make a difference - and won't allow me to rebase the fighter. That was a simple Wavell to Calais move.

I then tried a bit more complicated move - putting Wavell into France and then a couple of extra units and then undoing. The result remains the same; no rebase allowed.

So finally I tried saving the game at Land Movement with Wavell and co in France, coming out of the game and then going back in and undoing. Guess what? I still can't get the Spitfire to France.

Let's face it Mayhemizer, you and the dastardly AllenK are simply cheating [:D] And you would've gotten away with it too if it wasn't for those meddling kids warspite1 and Orm [:)]

Hopefully today. I have some unfinished Chrismas business to do [:)]

When I get file to you I try to recreate problem and post it to tech forum. I forgot that undo part. AlkenK played first part of impulse and I continued.

Warspite1, what happens if you undo HQ move from here and then try to rebase fighter?

Now when I reloaded game from Air Rebase -phase I can't rebase fighter.

Forget the rebase. If MWiF isn't allowing it, which appears correct, that's fine.

Not all that fine for Japan. With 40% chance of fine weather in the North Monsoon one would think I would have gotten at least one impulse with fine weather by now.

Surprise, surprise, the air strike actually found the French fleet. Although the surprise rolls where not in the Italian favour. Allies rolled 7 and Axis 8. But 3 surprise points is not enough to avoid combat. Nor can the points increase the AA enough to get any result against the bomber. Hence I took upon myself to use the surprise points to decrease the combat table. If you want I can go back and change it.

Depends on which hex that gets the support. Here is a picture of all German organized aircraft where 3 is flying the ground strike mission (marked in red) and can not be used for support.

The naval bomber in Italy doesn't reach any hex in France. The fighter in Liege only reach CW forces. So that leaves 1 point from the fighter, 5 from the Stuka and 1 from the naval bomber in Kiel. And they all only reach part of the front. All 7 points reach the hex being bombed.
