So I had 9 CVEs covering this invasion force headed to Babeldoab. I figured the KB would stay under LBA at Guam. Man was I wrong! My CVEs spotted the KB first an made the first strike with all torpedo planes.

In this game in the past when a CVE TF ran into a KB the allied CVEs would get totally sunk. Not this Time. Maybe the F4u is having an effect.!!!

This is the frame with the jap strike on my CVE tf. Because this is the 5th day of combat for the KB it appears they are weakened in their effort.
So far no CVEs sunk..I wish my DD TFs at Bebel had a 1 hex react range.

44-11-20: At the beginning of this turn the KB was one hex northeast of Babeldoab...with 4 allied DD TFs at Babeldoab, and a large allied invasion fleet 10 hexes SE of Babaldoab w/ about 10 CVEs in escort. The Allied Fast carriers where located SW of Guam. Two allied DD TFs are located at Pagan. Jap Naval air has been roughed up by alied lba at Pagan an the CVEs SE of Babeldoab. In this case I did not press the attack. I still need a Fleet in Being an am rumming low on Essex class CVs. So I may have lost an opportunity.

The fourth frame below gives you the view of the location of the KB. FatR has ordered a withdrawal back to the PI. He has left two Tone class CAs at Guam who have not yet met their fate.

Here are more frames w/a view of KB strength. Frame 3 is a jpeg of an A. Burke let TF headed to Moluccas to raid some AKs sited in the area.

KB air is really weak now. May have screwed up by not pressing.

Look at this bombardment result in screen 1. The Japs are taking damage. I wonder how low the IJA supply situation is.

My DD TF at GT got beat up by a IJN CA TF. Screen three is noteworthy in that 2 DDs dealt out alot of damage to the Tone TF at Guam. One of my subs later sank a jap DD involced in screen 3. Screen four is another sub action where a damaged IJN CV takes 2 torpedoes inroute to PI.

In screen 1 the sub fired six torps. Some missed, but some hit. The replay photo says no explosion.
Arliegh Burke found what he was looking for at Kendari in screen 2.screen 3 is the afor mentioned sub attack on the damaged DD. Screen 4 is the continued reduction of Rabaul and the associated increase in experience for all these second line units.

This appears to be a example of the effect of army, corp, and divisions all at 100prep going after same hex(Babeldoab). SoPac , XIVcorp, 4th marines and 93th div all lined up for this attack. 4th marines and 93th Div are in chain of command of XIV corp.Throw in the 21st Bombardment group flying b29s.

The IJA has retreated from Georgetown. 6 divisions have moved one hex SE. Other recon reports units headed south from Kuala Lumpur.
