Sorong: This was odd. We greatly reduced our air strength at Sorong for the big push at Lingayen. Evidently, JJ noticed this. I think they sent these transports to rescue their substantial force stuck at Sansapor (just East of Sorong). We spotted them and sent a few SBD's and TBF's to Sorong. Their putative evacuation effort isn't going to work. The LB-30 "squadron" (3 planes) at Sorong had a fun day.

Morning Air attack on TF, near Sorong at 84,104

Weather in hex: Thunderstorms

Raid spotted at 19 NM, estimated altitude 12,000 feet.
Estimated time to target is 7 minutes

Allied aircraft
LB-30 Liberator x 3
SBD-3 Dauntless x 4

No Allied losses

Japanese Ships
xAK Yubari Maru, Bomb hits 2, heavy fires, heavy damage
PB Ayaha Maru

No torps for the TBF's. I blame the staff flunkie.

Morning Air attack on TF, near Sorong at 84,104

Is that when only old geezers fly the bombers?

Yes. And everyone gets a Traveler's Companion to deal with the prostate issues.*

*Note: This is something you strap to your leg, not a coed from SUNY willing to go with you to the Caribbean if you pay for everything.
The kind in the note sounds better.

It does to me too. Plus it probably isn't illegal as long as there is no quid pro quo, although I strongly advise you consult a lawyer first. Also, don't tell your spouse/significant other.

Not sure what was wrong with the LYB units at Shwebo to just fold like that. Maybe the air bombardment did it. All those poor Vengeance drivers accomplished something. Looks like they mean to form a line at the Irrawaddy.

Strapping a prostate to your leg? Sounds like a pretty severe case of prostratomegaly. [X(]

Yes. You do have a lot of Indian units trapped there. What are your plans for getting them out intact?

East Africa Brigade is NEVER going to be mistaken for an Indian unit although there might be a lance-corporal Singh for all we know.

I watched the replay. Prince William was indeed finished off by an Ida attack.

Here is what Eisenhower said about Mussolini's death. "God, what an ignoble way to go". The same can be said about Prince William. I should have left her at Iba. [:@]

Even worse, 46 years later a plastered captain of Exxon Valdez will spill 6 million gallons of oil in Prince William Sound. Let's not name anything else "Prince William" for a while, OK?

Both Bettys and Kates (and fighters) are operating from Leyte. There is not even an airfield icon lit up. Used to be you could count on that. Damn fog of war. Bloody, inscrutable little yellow baaahstards.

Doesn't Prince Harry have a brother? His name is on the tip of my tounge..

I suppose it would be even more odd if a Kate torpedoed Prince William instead of the other way around.

Speaking of this, was the removal of airfield-icon-intel-bonus in an update or Beta? If so, when did this happen? Don't tell me it was removed under AE???

Or was its removal itself "fog of war"? This was a gigantic inside joke, right? It's like you get 3 feet of toilet paper stuck to your shoe and nobody tells you. Sadistic baaahstards!!

Yes, it was in a Beta. As far as when, that's foggy to me. The toilet paper thing, sadly realistic.

Probably in one of those .doc files in the Beta zip folders. You know, the ones I never read. I can't read a list that goes past 3) anymore. I can't sit still in a conference either. Perhaps Odin is punishing me for writing all those Adderall prescriptions?

Maybe the updates should be restricted to 3 items.

I switched the game date with the real world date again. All day yesterday I thought it was May 1. It isn't. Maybe a house rule you can only attack in 3 places per turn?

So many funerals recently I have begun to think about issues of mortality. Here is my question.

At what age should one start going to church again so that one's family has someplace to have a funeral other than the Masonic Lodge?

See, my point is you don't want to start too early because you know you are going to get tagged for donations and then there is the time factor and all the macaroni and jello-fruit salad to suffer through.

Oh, heck no. I pray often.

Much easier to sacrifice a "craps virgin" to the Gods http://www.barge.org/barge_glossary.shtml (see "virgin")

There is a story in BARGE lore where in 1999 we dressed a young lady (Beth) in a toga and marched her from Binnon's to the Plaza ... to roll for 33 straight minutes ..[8D] These were the days of 10X odds downtown Vegas ..needless to say this was quite profitable for the right siders ..
