73rd Mototrised bde was kicked out of the japanese base by 2 fresh japanese Divs - looks like PZB is not giving up.
 
Not a lot else to say I lost about 80 aircraft on Darwins AF's but nothing really critical had no CAP because of supply situation
 
I need to unload supplies and get myself sorted at Broome, Derby and Port Hedland and then go back in.
 
My 'buck fever' of allowing to big a gap to appear between my TF's is going to make this more expensive than I wanted - I think I can still grind through it all but its going to hurt a bit more than I would like.

Andy,

how are you defending your forces during the reorg phase at Port Hedland? If he has just struck Darwin with the KB, it seems likely that he plans a major effort to strike those bases supporting your thrust into the DEI.

I have about 500 aircraft at Derby/Broome/Geraldton and Port hedland with 100,s more at Katherine (awaiting supply) Alice Springs and Perth
 
I also have a solid force of BB's covering my bases.
 
My main issue *(as a result of not keeping my TF's close to each other) is that my support units, supply and fuel were to far back and actually were exposed to a loop[ around by KB so I coulndt go storming back in I need to close up where my carriers can cover everything.
 
Give me 2 - 3 more days and I will be ready

You need to keep up apperances here. If PzB smells weakness now, you will be crucified at "Objective W". One alternative would be to move the CVs into a spot where they are "safe" from the KB, while it seems they are guarding W. Fly in naval support from Darwin or Perth.

Im thinking somewhere in this area. You should be spotted by his nav search, and at the same time, you should have time to run if the KB shows up.

Putting CVs there will also force PzB to act as if your entire CV fleet can appear in the middle of the battlezone the next turn.

Yup pretty much exactly what I am thinking as well half my carriers have reamred sorties so I am going to wait one more day to see if the others rearm as well

I hate how much I have messed this up 2 operations in a row I have got it worng.

OK my Carriers are able to replensih now not sure why not yesterday
 
They are all back to full strength with full complements of aircraft and will sortie tomorrow.
 
Final TF with mega support units arrives tomorrow at Port Hedland including multiple seabee and base forces so they will unload in a day or 2 and I have amphib TF's ready to load them up to hit my next targets.
 
This pause has not been good its given PZB time to get back on balance but my earlier mistake has made it inevitable.
 
This is goin g to take time effort and some hard fighting but so be it.

I suspect that the base had hit its limit the previous day.

OK the fleet has finally fully replenished and has sortied.

3 new invasion forces are going along with it but given my loss of critical time I am having to re organise and accept that this is probably going to cost me some good ships.

But the butchers bill must be paid.

I have decided to undertake three operations

1. Size two dot bases on the edge of japanese territory in force sufficient that PZB will not be able to kick me off with several construction Bns to enable quick development.
2. Reinforce Warangai with another Inf Div, Base force AA Regt and other support units
3. Neutralise Koepang and Roti once and for all with heavies.

My 4 day (so far) pause has granted me the following.

Full replenishement of my Air Wings in pilots and planes
Arrival of sufficient support units to bring Port Hedland, Broome and Derby into operation as major air bases
Fully re rested and organised the reinforcing sqns of bombers and fighters.

I now have a wing of 4 Sqns if P38's (not all at full strength yet but getting closer) based at Derby that can range all the way to Timor.
4 Sqns of P47's at Port Hedland as well as numerous Sqns to P40's and Corsairs

A large number of heavy and Medium bombers spread throughout the base.

The situation is far from perfect and my failure to keep the support convoys near to my initial assault convoy has led to huge problems down the line but cest la vie that milk is splled I now need to work out what to do about it.

To accomodate these objectives I will accept a certain level of attirition is assault transports which by neccessity will not be covered in the depth I would like as I must keep my carriers together in deep water to maxmise my chances in the inevitable carrier duel.

This is going to be hairy

What this will mean is that the Koepang and Endeh invasion forces will now be in wave 3 and will not go in with wave 2

Shouldn't be this shoulda been a slam dunk but I got buck fever....

The fleet got out of Port Hedland intact and managed to sink a few subs.
 
They will advance 3 hexes closer tomorrow no sublety this time a straight up drag down fight my mediums and heavies are going after Roti (Mediums) and Koepang (Heavies) tomorrow. I want both of those AF's closed as I close in
 
I am not rushing in this time taking my time and bringing in a lot of reinforcements in one go

Ok my 5 day delay is now officially over I am tidy again I hated the delay but it was my own fault.
 
I just hope Darwin is resuplied tomorrow as a major force of DB and TB's based there would close down 7 hexes range of Darwin and restrict PZB's options
