July-August 1942, Axis impulse number 4:

All Axis powers take land actions.

Umezu moves westward in Manchuria. Japanese units capture Ulan-Bator and Khabarovsk. Hong-Kong is taken by the Japanese too (I should have done this earlier, but I tended to forget about the place. Yamashita moves inland on the railroad from Darwin. More and more the Japanese realise, that they lack the power necessary to make good odds attacks on the CW in Birma. The units are spreadout throughout the Pacific area, garrisoning important places agains partisans. The Japanese simply lack manpower to stage a good offensive. Fast troops are put ashore in Darwin and a garrison is unloaded in Port Moresby. Japanese Marines invasde the Dampier Archipelago of the coast of West Australia:

Italian troops take the city of Ashqabad. The last oil field still controlled by the USSR is captured by Italian marines.

Kesselring and the Berlin MIL are railed into Karelia, south of Murmansk. An SS INF is railed into southern Spain. The Italians rail an INF into Portugal. Von Bock improves positions in Morocco.

Von Manstein, von Rundstedt and Rommel move eastwards. Day after day, horses, man on foot, equipment, food, supplies are marching over roads full of dust in the hot summer weather across a country in which all houses, farms, factories, railwaystations and buildings are burned to the ground. Many soldiers in the “Ostheer” haven't fired a gun or a rifle in more than half a year now and they are still marching towards an evading and invisible enemy over the long empty Russian plains:

July-August 1942, Allied impulse number 5:

The USSR takes a naval action (why not. The defensive line is in place and the Soviet navy and submarines are rotting in port. So lets use them). The CW takes a combined action, France passes and the US takes a land action.

The last Soviet cruiser in Leningrad sails, together with the submarines. They search for the Axis merchantmen. The Luftwaffe reacts on reports from Abwehr by flying the He 115 Flying boat as convoy escort. Allies and Axis both roll a four. Germany chooses a naval air combat. The Soviets use their surprise points to decrease damage:

Both sides stay for another combat round. Allies roll 3, Axis roll 7. The Soviets choose a submarine combat (4 surprise points used). They decrease the Axis combat results to nothing so they can press forward the attack:

Again, both sides stay in the sea area. Allies roll 5, Axis 6. This time the Soviets choose a surface battle. They abort another convoy point with no losses on their side. Both sides decide to stay. However, contact with the enemy was lost (Allies roll 9, Axis 4).

The Soviet admiral of the Black Sea fleet (who is on a suicide mission), searches for the Axis fleet. However, admiral Lütjens find him first (Allies roll 4, Axis 3). Lütjens uses the 2 surprise points to reduce damage:

Both sides decide to stay. However, contact is lost (Allies 9, Axis 5).

Soviet submarines sail into the Sea of Japan and search for the merchantmen. The Japanese react by flying planes into the sea area. However, it's a big ocean (Allies 9, Axis 9).

In Australia, US and Australian forces move slowly towards Darwin. In Morocco, Eisenhower decides to build a front against the Axis forces. He doesn't attack, because he hasn't got superiority on land. On the air however, the build up of the Allied airforce is satisfactory where the number of FTR's are concerned:

July-August 1942, Axis impulse number 6:

Germany and Japan take a land actions, Italy takes a naval action.

An Italian NAV flies into the Red Sea. An Italian SUB enters the Central Atlantic and searches for the Allied ships. However, the rough seas prevent a possible slaughter among the Allied convoys (Axis 3, Allies 10). The Italian fleet eners the Red Sea and searches for the CW ships there. The Allies react by sending the Typhoon in the Sea are. However, even the narrow Red Sea proves to be an area where you can't find the enemy (Axis roll 6, Allies roll 8).

Cavallero and an Italian INF arrive in Port Saïd. Germany rails an ARM into Spain and the Munich MIL to Aswan in Egypt.
In Iraq, the Germans get rid of a partisan:

The first German troops arrive at the gates of Archangel. The German army is still marching east, as fast as it can. Days and days and days of marching. Suddenly, Soviet positions force the tanks, trucks and men to stop. The generals order the forces to start the building of the necessary airfields for the Luftwaffe, The weather report for the next couple of impulses is a 1, making fine weather througout the globe.

All allies take land actions. The Mexican FTR is flown into the Central Atlantic.

STAVKA decides to use the absence of the Luftwaffe to use their own airforce. TB-3's and TB-7 bombers ground strike von Manstein:

After some thinking, the Soviets decide not to attack the lone ARM in the woods. The reason for this is that the long range Stuka might be able to provide ground support (even if it gets intercepted by Soviet FTR's). If this attack would be done and fails, it could mean the total collapse of the Soviet front, without any reserves available to them. Yeremenko and Vatutin reorganises all disorganised unit (planes and divisions):

In Morocco, both sides are incapable of attack. The moment any attack here fails, is the moment that the opposing side gets an advantage which can be used to crush the enemy lines. So it's somewhat like a WW I battlefield at the moment. Both sides will continue to pour more troops and planes into the region, untill one side has enough reserves build up to be able to absorp losses:
