but then how would I run my Windows games.

VMWare Fusion or  Parallels. Works great!

Soooo..........partition part of the HD to run under Windows. OK. But......when the Windows partition buys the farm, as Windows often does, what happens to the rest of the system?

EDIT ADD:

Ooooh, ooooh.....another question. How does the "magic mouse" run under a windows environment?

No sir...no partitioning required. It creates a virtual disk under the Mac environment. It's Windows under Mac OsX.

And its true that Mac doesnt have these, umm, issues, we'll call them......well, they're really called a clusterf*ck.......that Windows has with the registry errors, slowdowns, spyware, adware, crapware, blue screens of death and all that other nonsense?

Correct. It does not. It is Unix at the core. Stable and no registry crap.

Virtualization is nice (I use it a lot) but for dedicated gaming when performance is needed the only solution is dual boot (official Apple "Boot Camp") with both Mac OS and MS Windows. Then you have to have the separate partition...

Then, you reformat just that Windows partition. Should not affect the Mac partition.

BTW, I thought you worked for IBM (not sure where I got that idea). Dont tell me youre a Mac guy? [:)]

I do, and I'm not. [;)][:D]

Lifelong sacrifice, that is. [:D]
Could be worse. Could be a Browns fan. That's thankless and lifelong sacrifice for naught, that is.
