At the end of every year I like to assess (compare) Western Allied CP game losses to the historical data from the Battle of the Atlantic. I need to caution folks that this comparison is a bit like comparing apples to oranges. Both of which are fruits and are related but are not the same fruit. That is, I'm comparing Western CP game losses and aborts in all theaters to the BOA historical data, so I encourage folks to make whatever they wish (if anything) of this comparison.
The plots below are from the historical BOA data.

How good a match is the game BOA to historical? Honestly, I really don't know how to answer that question. Even accounting that the game data includes losses (and aborts) for all theaters, how should I combine game sunk and aborts to compare to the historical? My feel though is that this game BOA at the gross level is within the margin of error of the historical. Though, statistically I'm not quite sure how to prove/disprove that statement.
