Good suggestion, RJ, but I only did 10 years, so I don't have base privileges as part of retirement.

If you have any VA rated disability, you should be eligible to use the military commissaries. How is your hearing?

In the U.S., you may be eligible for commissary and exchange privileges if you meet one of the requirements listed below.

Have a service-connected disability rating and were honorably discharged, or
Are retired from military service, or
Are a former prisoner of war, or
Are a member of the Reserves, or
Have received a Purple Heart or the Medal of Honor

Get your hearing checked, that should be a disability if you were ever around a lot of loud noises including firing a weapon. That does not mean that if you wore hearing protection that you did not lose any hearing capability.

Also, get your medical records and go over them. If you strained you back or anything and now have problems . . .
