What could possibly go wrong?

Hmmm not very many US submarines patrolling areas of interest .. big BB could show up at wrong time [like at night turn] and mess up landings ...[8D] Your movements are going to produce lot's of heavy radio traffic messages .. . just a thought [8D]

Larger force puches
on to Shikuka with
carrier support.
Hmm - invest Skikuka but don't attack until you have landed small forces at hexes W and SE. That way when JJ retreats he will activate Soviet Union. [:)]

That won't really work, will it? [:)]

More subs on the way. USS Indiana will be on station. One pre-war BB for bombardment duty.

The notion is to make a bunch of noise near Okinawa, thereby attracting Kirishima and Kongo and Soryu.

Not sure how to solve the radio noise issue.

Ohhh . that hex to the east is empty .. what a nasty surprise ... one that might likely end the game [;)]

Clearly not resolvable .. but lots of activity in lots of critical areas forces the IJ to reconsider their options. Sort of the problem Hitler had between Calais and Normandy .. so much chatter and confusion they did not react to the obvious ...

It will be very interesting to see if the IJ continue once you have secured landing sites ..

Not sure if we have a provision against landing at non-dot hexes. Have to ask the team librarian.

The only way to do that with no non-dot hex landing is to land at Toyahara and march North.

We can make an Okinawa landing appear VERY likely. [:)]

I did a little sand boxing on this and I has not worked yet. The Lybs don't retreat they just die.

**************May 21, 1943(c)***********

Formosa: WJD ships (including a BB) were spotted at Taihoku. This group likely included the Kongo class which had taken a sub torp so the transports were left unloading at Karenko. In the event, a WJD DD force showed up. An ASW group blunders into their way. Crewing an AM is almost as dangerous as crewing an LCT around these parts. We are lucky more weren't sunk.

Night Time Surface Combat, near Karenko at 87,65, Range 8,000 Yards

Japanese Ships
DD Hagikaze
DD Yudachi, Shell hits 1
DD Usugumo, Shell hits 1

Allied Ships
AM Pursuit, Shell hits 4, on fire
AM Motive, Shell hits 4, on fire
AM Sheldrake, Shell hits 6, Torpedo hits 1, and is sunk
AM Token, Shell hits 6, heavy fires, heavy damage

Next, they run up against a more formidable opponent. they run away. No slaughter of LCT's tonight.

Night Time Surface Combat, near Karenko at 87,65, Range 7,000 Yards

Japanese Ships
DD Hagikaze, Shell hits 1
DD Yudachi, Shell hits 1
DD Usugumo, Shell hits 4

Allied Ships
CL Concord
DD Fletcher, Shell hits 1
DD Cony
DD DeHaven
DD O'Bannon

[X(] Santa Maria! I sound like my grandfather. Excuse me while I go out and split some rails and move the cows up to the back 40.

Halloween party at Pocahantas Girl's house tonight. Sadly, this is for kids so there are unlikely to be any adult body parts to be seen. Almost certainly there will be adult beverages and food so I am going.

If I can find some jeans that haven't "shrunk" too much, I am going as a Hippie.

PG got a brand new Benz because she didn't want to instal the new license plate on the "old" one. [:D]
