USS Mike,
I have some troubles too. They begin and end with no new turn in my inbox. Can you be of any assistance? [:'(]
Talk to that fellow mid-westerner. [;)]
DUDE![:-] I may be many things, a fetched up Yankee, a southern wanna-be , but I am in no ones imagination a Midwesterner. Besides, they don't want me. [:D]

Thanks for the words of support chaps. It's kind of complicated, but the short version is that since Josh was born Clare has felt a bit isolated. I knew something was wrong but couldn't work out what and she wouldn't/couldn't tell me and we ended up retreating into our own little corners. It was made worse by the fact that we're stuck in the arse end of Oxfordshire away from her family(and mine as well). She knows she messed up, but things aren't beyond repair and we've both learned important lessons. The thing is that my being in the air force is part of the reason she's homesick, if I'm not getting signed on then we've only got 1 1/2 years at most here, if I get the offer to stay on then we need to (a) decide if I should stay in the mob, and (b) if I do I need to start the ball rolling to get a posting closer to home.
Sounds like there's room for repair. I hope it works out.

Yup. "Nothing to see here, folks. Move along." Just another ho-hum day in the war. [;)]ORIGINAL: USS America

Dude! Here's how to get accepted out in Nebraska. There used to be some web cams set up in corn fields out there. Locate a few of those on the web and watch a few of them for a few hours. Then go down to the local watering hole and discuss what you were watching for another hour or so. You'll fit right in.

No ice storm at all. I followed my pre-laid plan, didn't commute with her and restricted any interaction at work to strictly professional topics. We exchanged maybe four or five sentences through the day.
It's a little sad, considering what we had just one week ago, but...

With a little time and caution , she'll realize your innocence. And maybe you will be back there. Time is an absolute amazing healer. Especially when combined with sincerity. [:)]

I'm not sure I want what we had back, Steve. If she reacts like this over what happened here, what'll happen next time I step over some invisible line?

Probably the wise choice, T.
