I also agree there needs to be a profit made but not equality for everyone. Ever read the bibical story about the men in the field? Those that started at 6am got 1 dollar sotospeak for the entire day. Those that started at 3pm got the same. Remember the wise saying at the end? [:D]
Nope, don't know that story. Enlighten me! [&o]

I don't think its that. The majority of us have bought used console,or bargain bin PC games.
The thing i think that bargain bin dwellers don't realize is that if everyone only bought bargain bin,or used, the whole industry would collapse.
It doesn't cost that much to make a CD,but behind hat you have alot of wages and other finincal obligations. We should be extremly happy that console and PC games are underpriced for the most part as we could easily be paying $80 dollars for PC games and $100 for console games.

Not to stereotype Korrigan, but are the French literally born knowing how to cook elaborate meals? [:'(]
Sterotype indeed, like other western coutries French people are now always in the rush, they do not take the necessary time to feed properly and have weight problems. Moreover, the tradition of nice cooking is loosing itself as the baby boomers was always after "modern" things. They did not learn traditional cooking recipes from their parents and are enable to teach them to their children.
In my experience over the last thirty years or so the vast majority of the French nation infinitely prefers steak and fries to anything resembling what those stereotypes are supposed to eat. The other weird thing is that the French just don't seem to do veggies at all. Salads, yes, green vegetables, no.

LOL, when i ran into them at the Yacht club they were rummaging through the "bargain bin" looking for "used anchors"[:'(]
I do agree with ravinhood though...i take care of number one first, that's why i have bought two copies of each Matrix game as of late so I (#1) will have more quality wargames to look forward to[;)].

Korrigan: Maybe WCS and AGEOD should collaborate on a gamers' recipe project. Have you a recipe for "Noix de St Jacques sautées au vinaigre de framboise"? I've been trying to perfect my scallops lately -- best thing I've found so far is to bake gently them 'till they're warm inside while melting mascarpone cheese mixed with minced shallots on the outside, then to finish them in a cast iron skillet in butter that's almost smoking, serve on a bed of boiled fennel...can't decide whether I like it better with garlic or with instead just a lot more shallot. In the butter, the exterior of the scallop, the shallot, and the mascarpone fuse together into a perfect substance. I need to find a good wine for it. Melting mascarpone onto something almost seems like cheating though: my shoes would taste good with melted mascarpone on them.
Son of Montfort: If St Peter shows up, he can be our eighth player, as long as he promises not to use any divine powers against us.
Everybody else: Sorry, sorry....not trying to keep you'all from talking about the Civil War! I'm hoping to get a chance to play AACW myself soon -- it looks like a great game.
I definitively advise a wine called 'Sauterne' (french one as you can guess).
http://www.chateau-de-fargues.com/ can take order I think [:'(]
Mmmh, I think I replied to the most important question of the thread. Can head back to my forum [:D]

Ah, "sauterne." The French word that, in English, means "furniture polish."

Ever read the bibical story about the men in the field?
Nope, don't know that story. Enlighten me! [&o]
In reference to the above parable. The ending of the story has the man who worked all day complain to the boss about the man who worked only half the day getting the same amount of money. The boss basically says, "He worked hard. When you came in, we agreed upon your wages. When he came in, he and I agreed upon his wages. Why to you begrudge me the ability to do what I want with my money in paying my workers."
Ravinhood... it works both ways. That means you shouldn't constantly tell people to wait till the bargain bin if they wish to pay full price [:'(]
You know the part of the bible about "He who is without sin cast the first stone..." [;)]
Now... where is my game on the Albigensian Crusade... either AGEOD or WCS want to make that yet?

Yup and where is that person without sin who can cast the first stone at me?

I made good point about the men who waited till 3pm to start working, they got the same pay as those that started at 6am (same principle behind buying a released version and waiting on bargain bin both get the same quality game in fact the one who waited actually gets a better fixed finished and complte game. Thus, the early bird may get the worm, but, the later bird gets the best ones.

Or in my case cheaper priced "fixed" completed games.
As far as "shouldn't tell people to wait on bargain bin prices....why not?" I think we live in a democracy here where it is everyones right of freedom of expression and speech. (oh not on all forums of course, but, that is up to whether the moderators have been instructed to act like the gestapo or not) Therefore if I want to "tell" people to wait on bargain bin prices I certainly don't see your reasoning as to not to. Would you dictate what others say now? Would you dictate what others buy and when? I merely give them a suggestions it's hardly "demanding" they wait on bargain bin prices as many here "demand" I buy or own a game to give reviews of them (of course I pay them no mind as you can see from my many informed reviews ;0) ). How silly of them. Do I need to own a Lamborgini to give a review of it? Hardly lol. DO I need to go to every game of my favorite team to give a review of how they are playing? Hardly. We give reviews not only based on hands on, but, our observations of others reviews as well. Other forum members who give their own insights after playing a game. Not just here mind you..you think this is the only site that gives opinions of games made by Matrixgames? lol You think I'm the only one to have ever called HTTR or COTA a kiddie clickfest? lol Hardly.
It is rare that I now purchase a game that I need to wait for a patch for (granted not always I still break my rules occassionally when a game is fresh and new and not some sequel or repeat of something old I already have). When I get
most games now it is ready to be played. All patching completed a FINAL production as is the way it should be when released. I've just learned to beat the system at it's own game. If others don't wish to follow and rather think they need to be some supporters to the cause, sobeit. I am the one that reaps the MOST benefits in the long term no matter how you look at it.
If one company goes bellyup there is another an another an another an another to take its place. Think of it like the Mike in the Morning commerical lately with the Mikes, put all the developers in the world in the pot and we will never see the end of wargame creation it would be just another Mike & Mike & Mike & Mike & Mike & Mike & Mike....(alright already you've made your point pass the color marker please geesh lol ..I love Mike & Mike in the Morning)

Back to AACW and FOF: there is no bargain bin for them, and they were nicely playable from the start (I own both but only paid one of the two [:D] ). So no need to wait, buy both [;)]

Actually there is and will be if Strategy First is marketing them. Amazon.com will bargin bin BOA not long from now. And Bargain Bin for Matrixgames is every Christmas as when I buy most of my matrixgames titles.

So, yes, there's bargain bin prices, yah just have to know where to look for them and/or wait for them. If you make a deal with Matrixgams to sell AACW then there's also a high probability it will come up for Christmas Holiday pricing and that means if it's Christmas Special here it's Christmas Special at NWS. hehe
Also just FYI to all my fans out there in Matrixland GOgamer.com has Europa Unversalis III onsale for $14.90 for the next 80 hours. For those that waited as I did..here's your chance to get it for a song an a six pak.

yes our server is down again. I have phoned the person in charge of it, but he is MIA for now. Sidenote, the e-boutique is not handled by our site, so you can still acquire the game this night, if you wish so [:'(]

Well, ravinhood...as usual you completely miss the mark. [8|]
The point about bargain bin is this...do you really think developers would be kicking about or new ones queuing up to make games, if ALL us gamers were as tight fisted as you? [&:]
The point still stands, clever parable quote or not, that without anyone buying full priced games, you'd be on Playstation 3 by now.
Your teachings could well be your undoing.
And you are absolutely full of crap when you say this...
We give reviews not only based on hands on, but, our observations of others reviews as well
If you do, you're more of a fleecer than I took you for. What a cheap skate way to promote or demote a game to people...by using what other reviewers say and transposing it into your own "mini" ill-informed review.
Buy the damn game or, at the bloody very least, play the fucking demo before you go spouting your mouth off about how bad a game plays.
