but wat is the winds of war about exactly i never heard of it before

You don't want to hear of it. It was a mini-series, like the Thornbirds if you recall that. I think it ran about 1983 or so and it was basically a movie that was very long, but cut into seperate parts. I can't remember if it was on for consequetive nights or if it was the same day every week for quite a while.

The plot for what little of one that there was, was centered around WWII. I think Mitchum was flying a B17 at one point for example.
[:)]Actually it was a RAF Wellington. He was supposed to be the US naval attache and he goes out for a joy ride. The seires is based on the Herman Wouk book.[:)]
Books, i think, "The Winds of War" and "War and Rememberance"...

That's correct!

BTW, those books are 100x better than TV series (as always)...

True , but they didn't do a bad job. Especially when you consider what they did to other books. Ned beach ("Run silent , run deep", ) was so angry about what they did to his book he told the press "They didn't buy my book, they bought the title!" Sorry about books vs book. My edition had them in the same volume.[8|]

Actually, the movies did one of the better jobs of following the books. Even some of the dialog was straight out of the book.

Reminds me of an old Simpson episode where the family get cheated out of movie royalties. "The movie people called. They said they changed the story just enough that they don't have to pay us"...[:D]

Again, there is no game called Winds of War... At least that's not what we're talking about here...

The scary thing is that I can imagine what you might send them (though it might not be the game)... [8D]

Maybe we should start the rumourmill elsewhere as well, like on The Wargamer...[:D]

All this Winds of War speculation amounts to a hill of beans (or the results thereof).

Hi Guys

Say one word and look at all the posts.  The will be something special coming along for War In The Pacific but that is all I am going to say now until our press release.  This is just to everyone knows we are working on something and that is it.  No other information is available at this time.

I think now would be a good time to hand out some sedatives...

pad152, you can be proud of yourself: your thread became the official unofficial announcements thread! [;)]

Great news, and great timing for me, as I'm trying to get back into WitP! [:)]

Say one word and look at all the posts.

Lucky you for having such a dedicated bunch of supporters for one of your games.

No other information is available at this time.

Any estimate for when further info will be available?

Definitely sometime between now and the time the sun burns out and turns into a lump of coal the size of a raisin...
