Yes, the KI-61 should arrive one/two months earlier than the KI-44...and it can do its job against the 4Es...! So if i was you i'd start giving a deep look at your KI-61 R&R industries...i'd say go for a min of 150 KI-61s!
 
 
Anyway in the pacific your perimeter seems very good. He will defenetly advance here if he wants but with all those forces deployed i really think he will simply by-pass the whole SOPAC and CENTPAC and focus on the SRA, closing it into a big jaw advancing from Burma and from Darwin...or at least that's what i'd do

One of these days Im going to set a huge trap over that tank regiment. Its the only reason I drove it up there. I know it will attract him like moths to a flame. Not tomorrow though. Another depressing day for the airforce.

This is the second time my bombers hit an empty base, and his bombers hit a full base. Amazingly enough, all this happened in the same phase, and he bombed the base my bombers came from.

All in all a crappy day. The only thing I can be happy about here is that I lost my aircraft on the ground again instead of in the air. I have lost less than 20 pilots on a day where I lost 90 aircraft. Of those pilots, only three were fighter pilots.

Looks like things will heat up in the Timor area again. I got a sighting report from a Kingfisher just off Lauterm, so I suspect he will come around here again. I also spotted a ship approaching PM, Im sending the Akagi over there to check it out.

I shot down 5 B17s over Lauterm, he scored two hits on a BB for no damage. I damaged something like 40+ B17s aswell.

This will be one of the last attacks in this area. In two days Yamato takes up patrol off Koepang, while I have another BB and 3 CAs at Lauterm. Im planning to win the initiative in this area. First by defending my bases with air (have been doing that for the past week), second by defending them from sea-attack (doing that now). When the bases are safe, I will start mounting offensive patrols in his waters and disrupt his bases with shore bombardment.

Huge battle over Koepang today. Despite having only a handful of fighters in the area, we manage to give him a bloody nose. 10 B-25C shot down, 65 damaged. He must have alot of damaged bombers now, and some pretty desillusioned aircrews.

Im reinforcing the base, I suspect the B17s will come tomorrow.

Anyway, morale is becoming an issue for some of my fighter wings. As you can see in the screenshot I have three units with too low morale. In the airbattle parts of these units left the fight early. Im withdrawing these units to Soerebaja and flying in new units from Kuching.

It doesnt feel that he just cured the uber air battle...he neutered the Jap fighters. In practically every single airbattle I have had against bombers, I have came out on the losing side. My fighters manage to damage the enemy bombers in huge numbers, but they always get through and torch twice that number on the ground.

When my bombers come alone however, they are massacred. See how my Sallys/Helens fared at Lashio, and see how my Bettys fared at Darwin.

I started a new game as the allies to see the arrival dates of the various allied aircraft types.

Looks like I gave you bad advice - to fight his unescorted bombers with your fighters. I'm at a loss as to what to do here. If he can bring in hundreds of unescorted bombers continuously onto targets has he has been here, then it would seem he can attack the SRA and roll it up in short order. Only KB a lots of troops would seem to offer any kind of defense.

It doesnt feel that he just cured the uber air battle...he neutered the Jap fighters. In practically every single airbattle I have had against bombers, I have came out on the losing side. Looks like I wont have any chance to defend Timor with airpower alone. I have enormous hit-rates with my fighters, but I only shoot down something like 1 in 10 damaged. This is starting to make me question the Nikmod. Especially the dogfight today where 45 Zeros and Tojos with altitude-advantage and expert pilots only managed to shoot down 3 out of 11 attacking Hudsons.
